Received 5 calls in 20 mins from 503-495-3091 (Beaverton, OR).  Telling me that my Google Network Setting is not working and needs to be updated immediately.  I asked who I was speaking with and what company.  Nick Walter (sure doesn't sound like a Nick Walter) and is with Google.  He is getting hundreds and hundreds of errors from my google account.  So I asked which account.  He gave me my name with a . between my first and last name.  Which I don't have a google account like that.  However he did have my name correct and number he called me on was correct.  He needed me to log on right now so we can fix it.  I told him I was not in a position to do that but to give me a number to call back.  He gave me 888-224-0966 extension 1021.  He hung up on me once because he got frustrated with my questioning.  Then he called back with in 2 mins saying he is still getting the reports.  I asked by I was not getting emails saying the same thing about my Google Network Setting security.  SCAM!!!

I too just received a phone call from an Anthony Caste.... who said is he blocking foreign data from attacking my computer.  His phone number was (503) 495-3091.  He asked if I downloaded new software, etc. He said I had paid a $200 fee with a Mastercard, so I knew that this was a scam.  I will be blocking his phone number.  I asked if he was with Dell and he said yes.  I called Dell and reported it to the scam and fraud department.

Called at 11:00am pacific time10/3/18.  Said his name was Dwain Hill, and that my Dell security download had failed.  Dwain Hill is also listed on Linked in as a Security Manager, this  too could be fake.

To add, I have worked with the real Dell on security issues.  They would never randomly call you and ask for assistance granting access to your PC

I received a call today from a Sandra who called me by name and correctly indicated my email address saying my account had been accessed by foreign individuals possibly overseas and Russia. She said she was with Rogers (my Internet provider) Internet Security Division and was trying to walk me through a procedure to fix it  and got annoyed  at me when I asked her more questions. I asked her where she was located, she indicated Arizona which made me very suspicious as Rogers Security HQ is in Canada and I noted a strong Indian accent which made me conscious of the many scams currently coming out of India. She said they handle security for Rogers, Google etc. I said I would check with Rogers and call her back as I realized it was a scam.  #888-224-0966 ext 1083 was the number she told me to call. I called the number and I asked the man for the name of his company. He said "system mechanic". I said that is not the name of a company what is the name and he then hung up. 2 seconds later the phone rang from 503-495-3091 which I didn't answered. Be weary of both numbers a scam

Got a call from MSN/Microsoft Security Services wanting me to check my security settings on my computer. Told them the never call back and remove me from their calling list and hung up. They called back in 15 seconds. I was more than impolite on the second call. They were very persistent even with the amount of rudeness I threw at them.

    A definite scam.

I received a call from this number and Tony told me that I bought System Mechanic from him he asked me if I remember him. That is a new angle. He went on to tell me that reports are coming from my computer. I hung up on him after some choice words and he called me right back. Pain in the neck.

Scammers ignore the DNC list. And having an unlisted number doesn't mean you won't get unwanted calls, just that people looking in the phone book for you won't find you. All a scammer has to do is use a robo-dialler which calls all numbers in a given sequence. Yours just came up in the rotation. Get a call blocker which enables you to block entire area codes.

After reading all the comments, I blocked this number earlier today.  They called back.  Pesty stubborn scammers!   I did NOT answer the first time and glad it was blocked when they called again.  They'll keep trying until they get someone stupid enough to fall for their crap.  PLEASE do NOT be that person!  Do NOT answer and block if you can!

I screen all unknown calls with my answering machine and do not answer them. After 3 rings my machine picks up. This caller didn't want to talk to my answering machine and hung up. I am on the Do Not Call list. Research into this number stated people said the caller had an Indian accent, stated he was from Dell, and that they needed to download some updates. Definitely a scam caller. Reported to FCC and Do Not Call, then BLOCKED#.

I have been getting calls day and night from 888-224-0966.  This started shortly after I posted a comment and used my email address.  Shortly thereafter my email account showed up on the dark web.  First activity there in over ten years.  Probably the source of their information.  I have change PW and am VERY happy I never let ANY helpful application gather all my addresses and information in one place (e.g., outlook, yahoo, google)
