Female with Indian accent told me my home network was breached, and computers in Russia were logging on to my network. Scam according to everybody here, I agree.

I'm getting calls from someone claiming to be from "Google Security"  telling me that they will cancel my google access because I have too many threats on my IP address.  They wanted me to check my computer and I said no way.  I've tired hanging up on them, telling them to stop calling "I'm not interested" and nothing seems to stop them from calling back.  The CRCT has confirmed that this is a scam.  Reporting this to the "Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre" now.

Don't want another phone call from this number.  Called me and I told him that I didn't ask for this call. Called again and I told him to stop calling me.  Called again and I hung up! It was probably Filipino or Indian.  Asked me about my dell on the first call.  Told him I do not own a Dell.  Did not stop for 2 more phone calls! Not abusive language but I am not disclosing my name to the internet that is unsecured. Apparently this might be a MSN/ microsoft  prank call. A lot like the post above.

888-224-0966 keeps calling me, claiming to be from Iolo System Mechanic, and saying they haven't been able to update my System Mechanic software for months. He correctly told me that 2 services on my computer are stopped, and he wanted to guide me to reactivate them: "application layered gateway service" (I may have misunderstood "level" as "layered"); and "application identity." Using MS Config, I found both are really stopped on my system, and I don't currently have Iolo software loaded on my computer at all. But I do have Eset protection on my computer, and I'm going to ask my local "super guru" to evaluate this.

Any time someone calls me and wants to run my computer and "fix" something, or tell me how to "fix" something, I strongly suspect it's a scam. After reading the other reports on this number, I'd say it's 99.9% likely a scam!

Interestingly those are stopped on my computer as well, so I suspect it is a common with MS Computers.  No one cold calls you to tell you that there is a problem with your computer unless they are trying to scam you.  If you did not ask for a callback from a known, reliable computer company, never give them access.

Has anyone recently had an update done on their Garmin GPS? This is when my troubles all started. This number has called me 24 times in the past two days. Even after I screeched at him, he tried calling back. My screeches are pretty scary too.

Update: I posted a couple days ago. Today I called Iolo (System Mechanic) earlier, and heard that they have basic customer support free, and if they need to do anything advanced, there's a charge. No way is Iolo calling/harassing customers to get them to do something with their computers.

]This guy keeps calling. He says if I wish, he'll "cancel my subscription to this service." I think he's called at least 8x today! About 15 minutes ago, my husband told him to stop harassing us, but he's called repeatedly since. A real software or computer support company would not do this. I'm just taking the phone off the hook and setting it down.

Jot down the local FBI, Sheriff, Police telephone numbers. When they call, tell them you are "expecting a fax on this line", "please call back on my other telephone number". Give them one of your choice from the above.

Said he was from System Mechanic, but hard to understand with his accent. He gave up when I told him to email me the information. I also asked him what my name was, since he called me. Another thing that messed him up.
