ANY communication received by US mail which appears fraudulent should be taken down to the local post office so that the postal inspectors can take a look at it. This may be mail fraud.

My boyfriend got the same letter for $17,000 SLAP Program, same address different phone number 888.294.2701 signed by Steven A Smithe, it's a scam!!!!!

Same type of SLAP notification with check from "Steven a. Smithe." amount of $59,000.Called the number to investigate. "Ava Price" answered and said the address is their Mailing company" and her emplooyer is actually "Student Loans of America." She had my balance and asked for my government FSA ID information (what you use to log in on government sites for student loan information, etc.). Phone number on the letter is 888-294-3635. she gave me 2 additional phone numbers to reach her directly: 866-343-8741 and 760-933-3056. I was really hoping this wasn't a scam, because I could use the help! Thanks for the info on this everyone!

Received a letter with the same address claiming that I was pre approved for $28K in student loan reduction. SCAM!

Got one today,  different phone number - 888-294-3795. Student Loan debt is a serious thing for most, hate scamers.

I received a letter and a check for $26,000. has secure approval code SL60720-23178 and a ph # 888-294-3990. the return address is 2000 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W. # 285 Washington DC 20006

Recieved a letter same deal as everyone else exact same address listed as 2000 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest number 285, check-like document signed by a "Stephen A Smithe," new phone number is 888-294-3990 too bad it's a scam

received in the mail today, Same "official check" for $20,000 signed from Steven A Smithe...phone # is 888-294-5284 (new scam number because Google Search on this number returns ZERO...more than likely spoofed number...contacting FTC about this now to report. Return address is 2000 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W. #285 Washington DC 20006 UNITED STATES OF AMERICA complete with warning box "WARNING: $2000 FINE, 5 YEARS IMPRISONMENT, OR BOTH FOR ANY PERSON INTERFERING OR OBSTRUCTING WITH DELIVERY OF THIS LETTER U.S. MAIL TTT, 18 SEC. 1720 U.S. CODE"

Take the check and the envelope it came in to the post office and have them forward it to the postal inspectors.

Got the same offer from CCAP,phone number 888-236-0292. A check for $32,000 ,s signed by John L. Clark was enclosed.  I did not call, but did receive a call from "Jason".  I told him I wanted to consult with my son and CPA before I made a decision.  He was to call me back --thanks to this website, I realize this is a SCAM!  BEWARE!!

It's true (they aren't fair)! They offered me a $50,000 reduction! Lol Pretty obvious when they don't have a website! I also googled their address and while it doesn't break down the specific unit numbers, there is a UPS Store in that center.

I received the same letter with a check of roughly 16k. This company did not list their name on the letter; only a phone number: 888-471-8767. The letter was signed by Steven A Smith . Lol, if you tune into sports talk, seeing the letter signed by Steven A Smith would make you laugh. I won't be wasting my time calling the scammers but if anyone knows where I can forward this scam mail to report it, that would be greatly appreciated. Student loan assisistsnce my a $$.

I got the same letter last night with the phone number 888-357-9980. It really does looks professional but at the same time it's suspicious. Anything that sounds too good to be true usually is. I actually called the number, and they even sound shady. I'm going to report them.
