I only donate to charities that I contact & that know that they use their money for good, not evil(a little joke).

I received a call from this number.  I let the "gentleman" finish his pitch and proceeded to explain how my donations are being allocated this year.  Somewhere between "I'm sorry and I'm donating to" - he just hung up.  That is so rude and unprofessional.  He is asking for my financial help, and is intruding upon my personal space and time - yet he hangs up on me.  Also, callers beware - you do not know the hardships of the people you are calling.  All legitimate organizations that depend on donations from the population at large - should be offended too.  This type of rude behavior could hamper your collection efforts.

They called and asked for a donation.  I told them that I did not want to be called. Please put me on their DNC List.  I asked her would she do that. She said "Yes, as soon as we receive your donation." I asked again for clarification and she repeated the "Bribe Clause." So I said send me the "pledge."   When it arrived, I sent it back without any funds and reported the reason no funds were enclosed.  The audacity of making the putting on their DNC list that I donate to them. Having read all of the comments below and seen their % of contributions that are actually used for cancer patients you know this is a scam.

I keep getting calls from this number but no one ever says anything.  It happens regularly.  How can I stop them from calling?  It's harrassment!

If the American Cancer Society says this group is not affiliated with them it is not.  Therefore it is not a charity. Hence the do not call applies.

I am receiving 10 - 12 calls per day from this number and 214-283-1316.
It is very annoying, especially since they ARE NOT representing the American Cancer Society

Idiots call and start out with "And How is Your Day Mrs.So and So??
I'M DOING WHAT ANDY ROONEY SAID TO DO, when one of these telamarket people call now,  I say "Could you hold on just a mintue?"  then I put the phone down and walk away from it and continue doing whatever it was I was doing.  They eventually hang up and then when I notice they're gone, I hang up.

They just called me and said they were Health Solutions. I asked for a supervisor to be put on a no call list and they hung up. I called the number back and it was the Cancer scam company these posts are about.

I sent the number to the California AG office

I got a call from this # and answered it. They asked for a name I did not know. I said.." I am sorry you must have the wrong number" And they hung up on me with out so much as a word. That is rude and very unprofessional!!

They called and asked for my wife and I asked why. They said it was one of the charities she supports. My wife has NEVER sent any money to that specific charity,,,,,,,NEVER! They just found her name somewhere and started calling.

I received a call from this # about 10:00 AM on 5/6/2009.
The female caller was soliciting funds for this organization.
She started off with asking for a $ 25.00 donation.
When I told her " NO " she kept lowering the amount.
I finally asked her, " What part of NO don't you understand. "
Sarcastically, she replied, " I'm just doing my job ! "
A very hateful attitude when I turned her down !
That is NOT the way to conduct business !!!

Thanks to googling and ending up here, I found out who called from other posters. They didn't leave a message when they called, but I've gone ahead and reported them to the Do Not Call website.

i have gotten calls from this number/these people before and told them to STOP calling me! I made the mistake twice (the past 2 years) to send them money - only to learn that they're not legit! Can't someone arrest these creeps???? They are not nice when you tell them to stop calling you!

I never give to organizations that call you on phone no matter how good they are. They also mail you solitations for money and if I want to give I will. But if I don't reply to them they should know I choose not to give then or not ever. When they later call this puts me off their charity forever. Sorry as I know many are very good causes while others are like the one above.
