Got the same message and called them back.  It was identical to the information Nicole posted above, even down to the person's name and amount of outstanding debt.  And when I asked for proof of the outstanding account I was hung up on.  They just wanted me to give them my credit card information and they could settle this issue for only $600.  Obviously they did not get what they wanted.

I got a message on my answering machine saying I had a complaint filed anainst me.They said they had my social security number and left me a case number. with a number to call back,so I did.They told me I had an outstanding credit card bill. They told  me in order not to go to court they want  me to pay them $1,000 and it would stop a law suit. I told them I never had a credit card in my life. They keep demanding me to pay them $1,000.I reported the number. I also called the PA. state att. office they said it's a scam, and not to answer them again.

just got the same call, I call them back and they said I had a bank 1 debt outstanding, that I paid for 9 years and stop paying. I hang up!.

This number called me said I had an out standing credit card bill,and to stop court they wanted me to pay them $1,000.I told them I never had a credit card. They refused to give me any info. on what address that the card was sent, or what the soposed bal. was. they just keep insisting if I didn't pay the $1,000 they would take me to court. I called the PA. Att. Generals office they said this is a scam and not to pay them anything.the number they called from was 971-888-7704, but the number they told me to call was 888-283-5647 then press 8. DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM

They called me on my office line with the same messages. I told them to cal my attorney's Do-we screw them & How esq.

Got a message today, got several before, inwish there is something we could do.  Never retutned the call

Message on my answering machine that a claim was filed against me in reference to my social security number and if I wanted to make a statement I was to call 888-283-5647. Also gave me a case number. I called the number provided and a woman answered and I told her about the message left without giving her any personal information. She asked me to wait a minute and I said, "Who is this?" She replied, "It doesn't [***] matter." Again I asked who is this and she gave me the same reply and I hung up. Called my local police and reported the incident and they took the phone number to add to their report.

Received call from 970-236-9601 sd to call this this number but let it go thru on original # as I knew this was a spam..

Archeleta answered and said they were Standard Mediation out of California.. I told her I was Agent Joe from the FBI -- she immediately asked for my badge # ,... I asked her for hers.. she said by law I had to give her my badge # (why??) I tld her she seems knowledgable in the laws but you broke the FDCPA - said they are not a collection agency -- I said then what type of company are you .. refused.

BE CAREFUL ALL.. They Spoof #'s and will never give you any information about themselves that is correct!

I got a call today about the same crap.  I called back, no one answered.  I received a similar call a week or two ago.  The funny thing is I believe they called my regular number, but I never use this number.

I just want to thank you all for posting on here.  I suffer from anxiety (bad) and almost went into a panic attack when I heard this message.  Thankfully, I had the idea of checking out the number online and here you are.  You have so put my mind to rest.  Thank you so much.  The original number it came from on my phone was 571-298-8285 with the 888 call back number and the complaint number.  Again thank you so much - I won't be calling them back.

I received a voicemail from (888)-283-5647. It was an automated message. The message said that they had recieved documents about a complaint that has been filed against me. I didn't respond to it. I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy last year, and I have certain protections under the law, so whether or not it's a scam, I don't know, but they certainly don't have any business calling me. They didn't even say WHERE they were calling from in the message. There's no telling who it might have been. It sounds like somebody who is out there trying to make a fast buck.

I received 2messages about an hour apart, both were auto-calls stating that there was a complaint filed against me. I called the number back from a friends cell phone (unknown to them) and had a lot of fun with the "non English" speaking operator. They sounded European. Anyway it was a few cheap laughs...and DEFINATELY a scam...don't call back from your own phone if want to have some fun.

Got a call from 712-215-7247, which asked me to call back 888-283-5647 re a complaint with a case number.  The 712 #  looks like it MIGHT be a wireless phone from Shenandoah Iowa... ) I'm originally from that state, so I was concerned.  However they used my maiden name (and how they connected it to my current married name and cell number scares me!).  I filed bankruptcy more than 4 years ago, so I know I owe nothing from before I was married (20 years ago).  Thanks for being here... With my complicated life the last thing I needed was an argument with a bogus collection agency.  Still concerned about how they got my cell number matched to my maiden name!

I have received 2 calls with messages from this SCAM? I am registered on the do not call list.

The Do Not Call Registry is not there for scammers or debt collectors.   It's for Telemarketers only.   (Telemarketing= The sale of goods or services via telephone)   And,  only applies to Registered with the FTC Telemarketing businesses.  It's sole and still only purpose for its creation.

Got the same call. Didn't answer. I never answer numbers I don't recognize. They left a message. Basically the message said this call is for... They mentioned a name I never heard of. Said a complaint was filed against this person and that I should press 8 or call 888 283 5647 for details. They never identified themselves.

Legitimate companies DO NOT conduct such business over the phone and ALWAYS identify themselves. This is an obvious SCAM.

I filed a complaint with the FCC and blocked both numbers.

This is all out criminal fraud on a large scale and across state lines. That falls under the RICO act. Why doesn't the FBI put these crooks in jail? Calling without prior written expressed consent. Calling people on DNC. Threatening arrest if not paid. are all FCC and Federal criminal violations. Write your State Attorney, Governor, Representatives, and Congressman and demand action.

I got the same message today and they HAVE my SS number.  I have called my bank so they know not to let anyone use my SS # to request a loan or credit card.  I'm glad I'm not alone in this matter.  They did NO give me a case number or another number to call back.  The did say I would be served papers to go to court.  Bring it on!!!

I got called from the same number but she gave me all my SS numbers.  She said I would be served papers if I refused to pay the $710.63.  Bring it on!!
