I mis-dialed my Dish number (800-333-3474) by dialing 800-333-3174.  These Frauds tried to sell me security protection for my home, our DISH System,etc.  They answered the phone as Dish One.

They are Frauds and are unscrupulous.  They start out by asking for personal information.  I asked them why they do not see me in their system...he said his computer "was slow"!!!

When he went on to try to sell me satellite equipment protections, I told him to let's get to the business I called about.  The SOB hung up!!!

These people ned to be in jail.  They are charlatans of the first magnitude and are are ripping off people.

I called this number because I was led to believe it was the number for Dish Network. My husband and I were on the phone for over an hour arguing with the representative about talking to his supervisor. He told us his name was "Bruce Wayne". In addition, he began to ask very personal questions about our living situation and home. When I continuously answered "no" he continued to try to scare me into signing up for ADT. Are you kidding? I have never been so angry with anyone in my whole life, including my enemies! I have written extensively to ADT to report the issue and will continue resending the letters until they are answered.

I cannot believe that we, as a nation, allow this kind of idiocrity! I had the same problem. Something has to be done!!!!

I have nothing against telemarketers, used to do it myself. It's good to know what we are looking at because this is ridiculous!! I don't understand how lying and omitting the truth to sell products is deemed legal. And we wonder why this nation suffers from increased heart attacks and blood pressure!!!! Here's your answer.

I'm very confused and somewhat concerned.  I've been getting calls from a different phone number (888-382-7995) on my cell phone ever since I cancelled our service with Dishnet.  Most of the time, it only rings once or twice.  If I do try to answer it, there's no response.  Today, I decided to try to stop the calls by speaking with someone at this 888 number.  I was surprised when I called the number back and got a Dish Network recording.  When I spoke to a CR rep, he gave me a customer service phone number of 888-333-3474!  I assumed this was in case I was disconnected.  After three frustrating calls to these people, I was told that we owe them approx. $60, and that's probably the reason for the calls.  Makes absolutely no sense at all since nobody answers.  She asked for the last 4 of my SS # when the billing issue came up . . supposedly so that she could be sure of my identity before telling me the balance on my account.  I'm wondering if I've been scammed.  At the very least, I'm being harassed.  Dishnet will go down like the Titanic if this kind of customer treatment continues.

Same thing happened to me.

Just got a call on 10-28-12, was a pre-recorded message  to confirm my Appointment with Dish and nothing more. They also sent an email 1 min after they called. Don't see how this # is a scam.

unfortunatley, you are dead wrong!  My husband and I are independent Dish Authorized Dealers, so I know a "little bit" about what I am talking about.  Yesterday, we had a customer of ours in our store to upgrade his Dish system, and add a receiver.  He didn't have protection plan anylonger, and needed to add it back in order to get the upgrade at a very small fee.  He went home and called (by mistake) 1-866-333-3474 to add PP back to his account.  The person who answered his call never identified herself as Dish customer sevice.  When he told them what he wanted, she asked if he wanted it for 1 year or 2, that in it's self should have been a flag, (it is just added to your monthly bill @ $7 a month) but to a person who thought they were calling Dish, it wasn't.  He agreed to 1 year, and they charged his credit card $69.  The next day I checked his account, it (Protection Plan) still had not been added.  It usually takes about 30 seconds to be added.  I called the number he called, and pretended to be him.  They have an automated greeting, "Thank you for calling Satellite blahh, blahh, blahh".  When a real person answered the phone, she asked for my name and phone number, when I asked if this was Dish, she said they are a 3rd party "AUTHORIZED" Dish and DirecTV Promotion Center.  I questioned her on a few more things, and told her I wanted to talk to the real Dish Customer Service...she wasn't the most polite person I've ever spoken to.  Needless to say, I advised my customer to call the bank and stop the credit card payment, which his wife was already on.  He called 1-800-333-3474, spoke with a real customer service lady at Dish, and boom,,,he had his protection plan back...!!!  So, for anyone who might call Dish, and you aren't greeted with "hi, thanks for calling Dish"...hang up!!!! FAST!!!  It's a sad state when people think it's OK to fool unsuspecting folks, and steal them blind, I just pray they one day see themselves for what they are...CROOKS,,,

Whenever I call 1800-333-3474 it says welcome to Dish and then always transfers me to AT&T this is in Indiana

I called 888-333-Dish, these people are real scum. I was trying to get a second receiver for my Dish, but figure this out real quickly when they kept asking for my SS#. They kept trying to sell me an ADT system and would let me get past the rep. I finally I just hung up. I did give my Dish account numbers and address since I thought it was Dish, but I did not give them my SS#.

After getting a few clearly junk calls from above and reading the info from others, I made a contact from their 800# that shows up as "Fraud DoNotAnswer" to remind me for next time.

this guy calls me and starts going on about crap like telling him the id of my receiver or he will fine me $1000, i hung u, he called back and kept forcing me to get my ID even though it is in a box somewhere in my house, he then rudely said that i don't know anything and hung up.

I have had this happen so many times and it should be illegal. I'm glad people are calling them out

Same thing just happen to me

I see what the problem is for me & some people not paying close attention. When I put the 1-800-333-3474 number in the Google browser it gives me both 1-888 first then 1-800 and then alternates down the listing. The devil is in the details!

Someone called from dish network to my home...my child answered the call....the pathetic rep did a child harrassment over the phone...what an idiot!!!!....no sense of humanity....they are the rotten rats on this beautiful earth.
