I just got this same call stating my Dish TV was past due and to call it
1-800-333-3474

I did that.
Eric answered saying "tech support"
I asked "tech support for who?"
He didn't have an answer so I asked him "are you Direct or Dish TV?"
He said he is a sales tech and would be happy to answer my questions if I would give him my phone number (I had *67 before calling them back)

He then asked if I was happy with my current TV provider
Said yes I am very much
Eric: How much do you pay for your service?
Me: "ZERO!"
Eric: "How can that be $0?"
Me: I own a HD ANtenna so there's no f***king way this call from you and the company you work for is legit and I am reporting this call and this number in 1-800 Notes

I called this number to ask how to program a different remote and received the same deceptive spill without paying attention until she asked for my social security number to see if I qualify. I questioned who I was speaking to and she stated that she is a outsource marketer for direct TV.  She also said she could give me a genie and the package with the most channels plus 7000 of Netflix for only $60.00 a month. This is very dishonest and a fraudulent practice.  Is there a way to stop this company, perhaps with the better business bureau?

I was experience with American Premiere Satellite was different.  I was tricked into signing up for DISH.  I had to cancel my Direct TV and had to pay $250 for canceling my contract early.  I'm filing a complaint with the BBB.

I received a call from this number. 800-333-3474. Offered a good TV deal through Dish Networkl. I said I was interested but that I wanted to see a contract with the prices, channels and the cast staying the same. He assured me that all was good. I gave them my name and address but when he asked for my SS number I said no. He said all companies need that. I said that I was not giving it out over the phone. He said he had to have it. I said no, not interested any more. He said to call him back. I said no. He called me back. I said I had look the number up on line and did not like what I found  and I was not interested, hung up. He called me back. I said do not call me back. He called back and said if you don't want to give me your SS #, give me your date of birth. I said I am done dealing with you guys. Anyone that asks for your SS # over the phone is not legit. You would be foolish to give it to them, period. Not sure what is up. but it is questionable at best. I would stay clear. Jim

Thanks for posting, guess you and all the others saved me a lot of GRIEF.

They called as a Dish Network as I "was making a payment". They tried to switch me to Direct tv which I found very odd.

Got a call from this number 2 days in a row.  The first day, they said I owed Dish $66. They said they would take my number out of the system as I don't have Dish.  The next day, they said I owed $85.00.  Again they said they would remove my number.  Yeah, right.  

Just got a call from this number, did not answer as we don't answer unknown callers and numbers on Caller ID.  It came up with the name "Joshua Ahrens".  Just dropped DISH Network after fighting with them for 3 days over service promised but not delivered.  Never going back to either DISH or Direct-they both are a bunch of liars and guilty of fraud.

I just got a fradulent alert email from these dishonest peole pretending to be DISH. They said I had to get new eqipment for free or my account would be closed because of a class action suit in Washington. Something didn't sound right so I went to the Dish site and saw nothing about it. I'm glad others have reported these people so we can avoid a nerve racking encounter with them.

There was an actual class action suit settled in WA and I received the same email. I went to Dish and recieved an alert when I logged in giving me 3 choices to choose from on the settlement. The number in the email is the real dish phone number....you might want to log into your account get a number from the Dish.com website and see if the email is real. I agree not to respond to the email but the phone number in the email I got was a real dish number.

When I called they said I got qualified for a security system and they acted like dish network then my mom called and they said they were directv and then I called back and she said they were neither they were home security and they got my social and address and name I'm scared and when I argued with them they were very unperfessional this is a scam I can't believe I fell for it

interesting comments. I did the on-line chat on DISH and talked with "Wendy". I asked if it was true that DISH is one of the sponsors of the Rush Limbaugh radio show. She asked if Rush was a customer. That was when I asked her what country she was in. She said Asia. I stated Asia is not a country... Anyway, I asked how to correct the spelling of my name on the bill and she gave  1-800-333-3474 to call. This is a Direct TV rip off number? I guess I will call them a few dozen times.

Called me and tried to tell me I won a $100 gift card  and then told me there was a fee associated with sending the card to me!! This is such a scam!! Do not answer!!

This person from 1-800-333-3474 has been calling me daily multiple times. I am glad I didn't answer the call.

This is a number for Dishlatino.com offering dish services to Hispanics, also have bi lingual plans with half Spanish and English stations!

They called me stating they were from Comcast and were offering me a gift card to use anywhere

Someone with a very thick accent (south Asian, maybe) and very poor English skills called my wife and said he was with some Dish company in Boston.  The connection was very poor and we're on the do not call list, so she was immediately suspicious.  She said we don't need tv service and hung up.  He called right back.  She yelled at him that we were trying to go to bed (it was 9pm and we have two small children) and hung up again.  Remarkably, he called back a third time!  I answered this time and he asked me why my wife hung up on him.  This wouldn't even be possible with a US telemarketer--the callers don't usually see the numbers they call.  I asked him what was wrong with him and told him not to call again.  So far so good, but it's obviously a pathetic attempt at a scam.
