It seems many of you are posting to the wrong message boards. This board is for the number 888-333-3474, which does not belong to Dish Network so they would not be making collection calls for that company. In fact they do not make any outbound calls whatsoever. You should pay attention to what numbers  you type into the computer as well as dial.

called dish network company a(800) and some rep gave me the phone number to these (888) scammers. glad we didnt give them our real socials. i hope they get caught in their dirty act. so sad. i wonder if they even think of the families they are taking from. innocent babies and kids. hard earned money. said they needed our socials for a credit to see if we were eligible for free equipment. i thought i was talking with someone from dish network and when they told me they were direct tv i told them we did not wantrhe service. today that same lady called me back from (313)266-9491 saying she was calling me back to see if i had made up my mind about switching company's. she hung up on me. trying to get my card number. real scammers. when i asked where they were located she said ohio. but the caller id was (313) Michigan.

Never had dish network or any satellite service.  So if this what it is, I'm not sure how they got my number.

I am with the company that answers 888-333-3474. I am very sorry you seem to have had a bad experience. I would like to point out that at the beginning of the call we clearly state we are not Dish Network, but work with an authorized retailer for DIRECTV. Switching to DIRECTV often saves customers upwards of hundreds of dollars on their TV service. As with most utility services, cell phone companies, etc... customers are qualified for certain packages based on their credit which is why we ask for a social. I am sorry to hear you feel you were being "scammed" out of money, but had you heard the offer out its quite possible you would have actually saved a good amount of your hard earned money by switching to DIRECTV. We are not located in Michigan nor would you caller ID show a 313 area code so its possible you have contacted several companies.

Do yourselves a favor... if you cancel your DishTV (and even if you never had it), it's a good practice to change your CC or Debit card so that it can't be billed.  We do that at least once a year, or when the situation (Like Dish cancellation) calls for it.

Said he was from Dish and they are calling all dish customers. Told me Dish was moving their satellites and he needed to make sure my receiver would still be compatible and once they moved them I would loose my programming.  I told him I didn't buy it and I would call Dish direct. I did not wait to find out why he wanted my receiver info.

Got the same kind of call - so this scam is very much still going on. The DISH network system security needs to be seriously updated! Otherwise no one can use Autopay with so much personal info online - and we would have to pay monthly by check.

Got a call from this number.  When I said I was on the "do not call" list and would report him, he said "go ahead."  Evidently, there is no follow through on these unwanted calls.

Same thing here. He kept asking pointless questions, insinuated I'm a bad mother because I wouldn't buy his home security system, and NEVER said he was from dtv.
When all I wanted was to pay my bill. I would hate to be a dtv customer and deal with the rude service every time I had a real issue.

I looked up the number after hanging up on 'Sam' two times. I called him out and told him I wasn't going to give him any of the numbers off of the menu selection. He told me to F-off and hung up.

Totally, totally false!  This is a true SCAM! - - The people at 888-333-3474 are very dishonest.
I spoke with TWO (2) women today.  I thought I was calling DISH service tech come to my home but I dialed 888 rather than 800.... The first woman I spoke with implied I was speaking with Dish.  She said she "I can help you with that' - first, however, she wanted to offer me an 'upgrade my service with DISH'!!  Yes, at first, she SAID upgrade with DISH - NOT DIRECTTV.  She was extremely pushy and around the 5th time of hounding me she slipped and said DIRECTTV.   AT this point, very confused, I asked why, when I had called DISH, was she pushing DirectTV.  I was told she represented BOTH.  I explained I was not interested in switching my service; I just wanted someone to come out to check my issue...  Finally, when she realized I wasn't budging and really wanted service, said I was not speaking with DISH.  She explained the numbers were similar and she would provide me with the correct number then she actually hung up on me!  I called a second time and asked for the name of the person I was speaking to (of course I didn't do this the first time) and what company I was speaking to.  I got her name and was told she was a retailer for DirectTV but could assist with DISH as well.  Totally inaccurate.  Very, very dishonest.  They should have to disclose they are not working for DISH network.  They should identify the company they are working for UPFRONT!  When someone calls to say they'd like service they should CONFIRM with what company they work.
The dishonesty is alarming and shameful.  I would be embarrassed to work for such a so called company!  I can't imagine how these people sleep at night.  Shame on them all!

I cancelled my dish network, now keep getting automated calls from dish giving this 1 800 333 3474 number, when you call it back, its actually a call from retail people from direct TV, very very strange, makes me wonder if one of these outfits owns the other!!!!!

I just called 'Dish' with a question about getting a printout of my technical support charge before my bill came out.  The person got my phone number and acted like she knew what I was talking about. But then said I can't help you with that however, I can send you out a new box.  I asked "what does that have to do with my statement?  I don't need a new box, he just adjusted my satellite".  She said "I can save you up to $40 dollars a month", I said "how? my bill now is only $21.26". Then she finally said "well Direct TV can save you up to $40 per month", I said "Direct TV?  FU I don't want Direct TV, I called DISH!" She said "you must have mis-dialed".  Sure enough my screen readout said 888-333 DISH which is ACTUALLY DirectTV.  I originally called 800-333-DISH but got an error message saying the call could not be placed at that time and to call again later.  Now it makes me wonder if they redirected my call somehow.  I had the number right in front of me when I dialed.

I just received a call from this number. It was a foreigner and I couldn't understand a word he was saying. I told him that I couldn't understand him and do NOT call me back. The only thing I got out of him was "Don't you have service with Dish Network?" and then something about supplies so I blocked this number.

I called them thinking I was calling DISH Network, I asked to be connected with tech support they advised me that they could not do that and in order to connect I needed to buy insurance/warranty for $89.95, I advised him I already had it, he asked me how much I paid, I knew something just was not right, I ended the call and called again and same thing. I then realized that I dialed 1888 in error instead of 1800. be careful disconnect disrespectful reps.

When I asked him to not call at 8;30 at night had the nerve to tell me it's not to late... thanks for waking my kid up right as he was falling asleep [***]

Just called me and it's 8:45 pm, Told me he was calling from Rogers but Rogers would know better then to contact their customer at almost 9pm at night so I hung up

Called my number and left no message.  Usually a call like this came from low life immigrants who came from poor and full of betrayal countries and came to this country and picked up a lousy job just to scam innocent people.  Just don't believe who they say they are and just don't do any business over the phone especially if that person has thick accent commonly heard over the phone.  They are just foxes wearing sheep skin costumes and ready to scam any people.
