Called claiming to be AWL Sourcing LLC collection agency looking for person with last name but not first name of someone in my household.  Sounds bogus as I have no collection activity and the name was wrong.

Asked for a name of a person who did not live here.  Guess it must be a collection agency as they stated they had business to deal with this person.

If you listen long enough through the options, you can hit the key number 4 then they go on about more issues, then I hung up.........

    What a deal!

This company calls every day and leaves a message asking for someone I don't know. I ignore them just like all the other toll free callers.

ALW Sourcing, LLC, Debt Collection Company left a voicemail message on my machine for my full name saying I had a debt so I called them back because I have no debt.  They said I had a $900.51 charge on a Sears credit card and I told them that I have never owned a Sears credit card and they just hung up.  This whole phone call gave me an uneasy feeling and I am hoping I did not just set myself to be scamed.  I gave no personal info but I did verify my name and they of course had my home number

They have called for the past two weeks every morning. I have called them back and informed them they have called the wrong number and asked for a person not living here, never has and I do not know. I have yelled, screamed, and pleaded with them not to call, and yet they still call. Same lip service, same rhetoric, same BS. These people do not care about you or your situation, as they are bottem feeding scum. I have had my same number for over 20 years and will be forced to change it because of these non professional collectors, posing as a legitimate LLC.

ALW Sourcing, LLC is one of the better debt collection companies.  They have agents who listen and who find solutions.  Yes, they call you.... but that's because you owe money... wouldn't you call someone who owes you money?  Just give them a call - they'll listen and work with you.

I would suggest that you answer your phone and verify if they are calling for you.  You may have a debt that you are unaware of and they can settle it for you.  Or it may not be yours but its on your credit bureau report.  Answer the phone and find out.  If it's not your debt than you don't have to pay it and the calls will stop.  They can only help you, not hurt you.

Statue of Limitations, ... It's the LAW
Personally everytime I get a call from them just after hanging up I file a complaint online with the National Do Not Call Registry at: https://www.donotcall.gov/
Be sure you have your phone # listed on the do not call registry for at least 31 days before filing complaints.
What happens is these so called collection agencies, buy charged off debts from companies often for pennies on the dollar and then harrass people until they finally pay whatever amount they come up with.
Sometimes they will even be kind enough to offer you a settlement for say Half of the original Bill owed, sounds like a real bargain, but being they hardly paid anything for the old charged off account and the rights to collect on it, just about anything you send them is just profit they keep, If they offer to settle for half etc. of the old debt, be assured they paid even less for the old account than that.

Now depending on the state inwhich you live in, You'll need to check the statues of limitations for your state,  where I live it's 3 years, So for example, Say you did owe a debt, things happened and you got behind or whatever. Now I'm not saying it's right to avoid paying debts if you owe them, but the law is very clear in that if a company doesn't contact you about a debt for a period longer than the statue of limitations than they have no legal right to claim you owe a debt to them. It's the Law and it's the companies responsibility to abide by it.

Now say that your situation is like the above, you had a old debt years ago, and time has past and the stautue of limitations has since passed also and the company had not actually contacted you, Then say 10 years later all of a sudden you are getting calls from a collection agency stating they are attempting to collect this debt. First thing they are in the eyes of the law, the statues of limitations has expired, they have no legal right to force you to pay anything, they will try and convince you you owe the debt and tell you the statue of limitations doesn't apply or many other lines. Bottomline, if they call just tell them "you do not owe any debt and remove this number from their calling list" then file a complaint on the above Do Not Call Link and /or your State Attorney General's Office.
If you ever admit to owing an old debt that the statue of limitations has already passed on(meaning you legally do not owe this debt), and you admit that you did owe the debt or even agree to send small payments etc. youthen will have legally committed yourself to that debt and the statue of limitations starts all over, but if its a collection agency calling and harrassing you, once you start making payments and then stop...if you think they aggravate you now, just wait being that you admitted to owing a debt that legally you were not required to repay they have all legal rights to collect them debts.

A word about companies contacting you and statue of limitations, The company that the original debt was with must contact you and this does not mean phone calls, Certified Mail etc. is about the only "Proof" that you even received a letter etc. from the company, if they contact you by regular mail who's to say you even received the mail? Once the statue of limitations has passed since the last time they can prove they contacted you... Legally you no longer owe this debt and they may sell off the original "note" on the debt to a collection agency for pennies on the dollar just to get something back from it, The collection agency is really nothing more than another company just trying to make a buck, instead of selling products, they buy charged off debts from companies in hopes of harrassing people enough that they will finally decide to pay for a Debt they no longer legally owe. Basically anything thing they can collect is just profit to them, You are just giving your money away, The company you originally may have owed money too has already been paid (pennies on the dollar), anything paid to a collection agency is just money for them.

I know this was long, and even though I'm sure someone will come on claiming this information is wrong(more than likely someone from a collection agency)...bottomline is, If you have questions, just contact a lawyer ask them how the above applies to the state you live in and your situation and see for yourself.

I am not a lawyer, and any advice given should be verified with the laws in your state, I Wish all of you the Best.

I have been receiving calls from 888-379-4884.
I received the first call after 9:30 p.m. on a Friday night.  The voice was abviously disguised, speaking unaudiably low, with fragmentented sentences.
I managed to hear partly, by repeated questioning.  They supposedly wanted to know, how disabled my child,Robert was.  I asked their reason for such an inquiry.  She said, I am from the IRS!  I replied I have doubts because of
the lateness of the day; she replied we work 24/7. The caller continued trying to extract information.  I finally told her to call back during daytime hours and on a phone that I could hear the questions asked.  I was
asked again for information to which I replied, I have no child disabled, named Robert.

The next call I received from these folks, stated they were with Social Security. This time they wanted personal information.  I thought perhaps they were some insurance company contacting me about changing options
for Medicare, since it is getting near the end of the year.  I gave them no personal information.

Then I started receiving calls every day or two. There is no live person on the phone when you pick up the receiver, only a message playing that stated:  This call is for ____inserting my name.  Saying we are XXXXXXLLC, a debt collection company.  You need to call 888-379-4884 extension xxxx, xxxx, xxxx.  I called and received a recording. I did not leave a message.  They interrupt me when I am speaking with someone on the phone.  I don't know how they know when I am talking, however, somewhat disconcerning.

I am on the Do Not Call List.  I plan on reporting them for harrassment.  Yet, I am curious as to why they are calling.  I am elderly, retired; my husband passed away three years ago from cancer, his name was Robert.

I feel this company has found something in the massive bills associated with his treatment, they are trying to make a collection from.  I know of none owed that have not been addressed.

If these folks are legitimate debt collectors, their methods are unlawful, (read the first page of the (DO Not Call) website; which clearly states, a collection agency has to speak person to person, with the individual). NO
electronic recording devices can be used for such purpose.  They misrepesent themselves, by claiming to be someone other than they are.

This is scavenger debt collector. They look up phone numbers of those who owe money and call. They hope you are ignorant to the statute of limitations on collecting a debt. If it is over 7 years old, DO NOT ADMIT YOU OWE THE DEBT!!! DO NOT VERIFY ANY INFORMATION!!! SImply tell them to send you proof and to stop calling or you will report them.

They call 2 to 3 times a day.  Leaving a message about an important business matter.  The one time I did pick up the call they wanted me to confirm my SSN and my address.  I just hung up the phone.  With everything that is going on I scares me that this would be allowed and not stopped by the FEDS.

    solution
    Please check the website http://www.bcsalliance.com/index.html

It is really easy to do!  You can check your state and see if the time limitation has run out plus more!

Here you can file an FTC report against this company. If you believe a collection attorney or debt collection agency, such as one that would work for a major credit card company, has violated your rights, research the FDCPA and file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission online at www.ftc.gov.
     Let's stop this together!

I've yet to meet a debt collector who wants to "help" a consumer. A debt collector's only concern is getting the commission -- even if it means breaking the law to do so and collecting on bogus debts. The fact is, no one is obligated to deal with a debt collector. And to stop the calls, all the consumer has to do is direct the debt collector to cease all communication.

But my guess is, you're a debt collector and already knew all this.
