- A Business Fax LineI don't normally call people back on these things nor go to the extent of looking these people up. But after 200 phone calls over a 3 week period I decided to contact these people in order to determine why they were so persistent in contacting our business fax line. I called them on our fax line to see if they monitored the numbers calling back. They knew immediately it was my fax number & after answering ALW Outsourcing they directed me to another individual spouting off LLC ALW etc. etc etc. When they finally got done spewing all this nonsense I asked them why there was no one there who had the intelligence to realize they were reaching a fax line. Their response was they were looking for (SOME NAME I WON'T MENTION HERE). I informed them with all those letters they are spewing out surely they realized that a fax line would not give them that information. The name was someone I had never heard of and I have owned this line for over 10 years now. Needless to say they said my number would be dropped in 24 hours. I am in much anticipation if they show up on my fax report again.

I wrote the "Texas Attorney General's" office, WRITE YOUR STATE'S ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE because debt collectors are exempt from the NO CALL LIST. I moved in April 2010 and started getting up to 25 calls from debt collectors asking for an unknown person. They disregarded the fact that the person they were asking for was not at this number. That put a stop to 80% of the calls. The other 20% continued to call, but I stopped that by turning my answering machine OFF, turning the wringer OFF on the phone I use most, but left it on in a back room so I could hear when it rang to check the caller ID and that way not miss any of MY CALLS. This really worked to put a stop to their calls.- Caller: Unknown Caller on Caller ID

- jo replies to JeepladyThe Do Not Call List has no impact on debt collectors, it doesn't apply to them as they have what is considered a previously excisting business relationship wiht the person who is trying to call. If you feel like they are harrassing you then you need ot file a compliant with the FTC because they are in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
- Jo replies to Heli_manActually chances are they are using whitepages.com or similar free residential listing website, which rarely update their information. Even for pay websites that specialize in finding people tend to give outdated results There are various reasons why they may be calling you. The debtor may have the same name you do, may have had you phone number before you did, or may have lived at your address before you. The fact that this company is calling multiple times a day is harrassment and you can file a complaint with the FTC or even file a lawsuit against both the company and the individual collector that's been calling you. Of course how often they can call and what they can say depends on whether theyare a first, second or third party debt collection firm and is determined by the FDCPA.
- rebekah townsI get call from ALW SOURCING almost every hour of the day, yet when I answer nobody is on the other end. Its getting increasing frustrating as it wakes up my daughter every morning at 8am. If somoe would just say something then I would know what they want.

- nycI got a second call today. So mumbled I couldn't understand the message. Don't know who they are looking for but it's not me. Not going to bother calling back... it would probably increase the calls. I turned them in to the DNC list anyway. Maybe next time I'll answer it and say something like "Joe's Pizza, can I take your order?" Maybe they would stop then.

- JLJRAt first it was constant recorded calls harassing phone calls from Ron Jackson at my place of work. I sent them a letter which I copied the Better Business Bureau (BBB) on as well and the calls stopped for about one week. The calls have now resumed except this time from Steven Jones but the message is the same....this is an attempt to collect a debt.....all information collected will be received for that purpose etc. The problem is I have no outstanding debts which was noted in my letter to them.

- DeeI received a call this morning. Left a message on my machine (if I see unknown name I don't answer) saying ALW sourcine etc. BUT did not ask for a specific person. I don't know who they want but I have never received anything in the mail from them and this is the first call to my number.
- Mr. Thunder StickWe started getting calls on our corporate phone the last few days from AlW looking for one of our company officers. Since I handle legal issues for the company I figured I would post some info to help others out.
After researching the net it looks as if ALW Sourcing, llc is quite possibly a spin-off of NCO collections. Basically what they are doing is trying to collect on all the old debt that was in NCO's portfolio. For most people the debts have surpassed there individual states Statue of Limitations, which makes trying to collect on them a violation of the Federal Fair Credit Reporting and Debt Collection Laws.
