They have called me a few times asking for a number for my sister's ex-husband who lives in New Jersey.  How do I get them to stop?

We get repeated calls from this number, although we have no debts outstanding with anyone.

in your computer is your frend it is           FDCPA          look it up you will fiend a bunch of stuff in regard to your rights you will also find a templit for a cease and desist order follow the instructions it will at least slow them down be sure to dockument it for court save the recet you get from the post office. don't ever contact them via internet or you will never get rid of them.

Just received a call from this number, 888 379 4884, looking for my 2 people that know each other, but are not connected in any means (ie: married, bf/gf) ..  Spoke to a "Miss Nelson" - wouldn't tell me anything other than she was from ALW Sourcing..

I kee getting a call from 1-888-379-4884, and when I called them back they ask for somebody that I have no idea who they are.  They are calling me several times a day.

Try spell check and grammar once in a while.  Any old debt does not have any determination on your current credit score and junk debt cannot be collected on unless you pay on your own.  They have no leagl right to collect and are banking on people being ill informed and stupid. DeAirra is a liar in that the debt has been written off therefore there is no record of it and no company is going to send you proof of a debt they sold.Sounds like "IT" might work for one of the zombie debt collectors.

I rcvd the same call today.  They claim they are collecting on a medical debt from 2000.  It is 2011.  I told the person to send me anything and everything they have in writing.  They are really wicked-she offered a "settlement: amount.  I told her there was no way in hell theyd see a dime of my money on a supposed 11yr old debt

This needs to stop.  I am getting an average of 5 calls a week from this place.

I am going to start answering with a bull horn.  No mater how many times you tell them to stop, they don't.

Notice they did not include the amounts on the last 5 charities and NOTICE the dates of ALL their GIFTS, last quarter of 2007.  I can deduce that either they are NO LONGER "CHARITABLE" or business is down.  Could not happen to a nicer guy.  Good luck, the irony of his parents naming him after his life's path, BILL (collector).  LMAO!!!

Look up the rules for collection agencies (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act - you can find it as a downloadable PDF document).  Read Section 806. Harassment or Abuse.  The things listed under Section 806 are violations.  Paragraph (5) states "Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number."  I think ALW qualifies.  They never stop calling.  I used the phone company's call blocking feature on them.  When I later cleared the number, thinking foolishly that by now they would have gotten the message, the calls started again.

The next time they call you, report them to the Federal Trade Commission as being in violation of the rules for fair debt collection practices Section 806, subsection 5.

Received a call from this number. A recorded message said "hello", to which I replied "hello". It then said "good-bye" and hung up. I believe they are fishing by recording us over a number of different calls. They will then reassemble the recordings to make it sound like you confess to owe them money. I believe they also call posing as representatives from Bank of America to get information for their recordings.

I don't normally call people back on these things nor go to the extent of looking these people up. But after 200 phone calls over a 3 week period I decided to contact these people in order to determine why they were so persistent in contacting our business fax line. I called them on our fax line to see if they monitored the numbers calling back. They knew immediately it was my fax number & after answering ALW Outsourcing they directed me to another individual spouting off LLC ALW etc. etc etc. When they finally got done spewing all this nonsense I asked them why there was no one there who had the intelligence to realize they were reaching a fax line. Their response was they were looking for (SOME NAME I WON'T MENTION HERE). I informed them with all those letters they are spewing out surely they realized that a fax line would not give them that information. The name was someone I had never heard of and I have owned this line for over 10 years now. Needless to say they said my number would be dropped in 24 hours. I am in much anticipation if they show up on my fax report again.

I wrote the "Texas Attorney General's" office, WRITE YOUR STATE'S ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE because debt collectors are exempt from the NO CALL LIST.  I moved in April 2010 and started getting up to 25  calls from debt collectors asking for an unknown person.  They disregarded the fact that the person they were asking for was not at this number. That put a stop to 80% of the calls.  The other 20%  continued to call, but I stopped that by turning my answering machine OFF, turning the wringer OFF on the phone I use most, but left it on in a back room so I could hear when it rang to check the caller ID and that way not miss any of MY CALLS. This really worked to put a stop to their calls.

The Do Not Call List has no impact on debt collectors, it doesn't apply to them as they have what is considered a previously excisting business relationship wiht the person who is trying to call. If you feel like they are harrassing you then you need ot file a compliant with the FTC because they are in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
