- JL| 1 replyI too get calls from this number and they are always asking for a person that I have no idea who it is. I too get letters from them for credit I never ever had. I just blow them off, they havent affected my credit report at all. I monitor it very carefully. I just quite answering any unknown callers and 800 and 888 numbers.
I was once told that if you are past your SOL and they still call you or send you mail, if you respond and say you will pay, your time starts all over again. If your not ever going to pay back, don't say you will cause it will forever haunt you.- Caller: NCO
- Publicus replies to samWhat a bunch of horsecrap! How long you been working for them?
- James Silver replies to ALW Employee| 2 repliesYour are not an ALW employee, your comment states that. all account at ALW are legit, advice to consumers check with the creditor. it is surprising when consumer state this is a scam, when they use the credit it was not a scam, but when it is time to pay it is a scam. it seem the consumers are the scamers. For Bill stop post thing on your website and replying to yourself, as if you are a consumer. you are just a dead beat who does not pay his bills. if ALW is a fraud company, ask yourself this why are they still operating and receiving awards on a yearly bases as some of the top business in the United States. the same countey you live in. woooooow, get a real job BILL
- False replies to ecWhy risk trying to getting a commision and getting sued up 50,00 dollars, it not worth it, i have never seen a collector, calling people to collect money and the don't own the debt
- False replies to mattamalif they are calling you, it's already on your credit, they can not place an account on your credit without proving it. they have to be registered and ALW is a third party collection, that means they do not report any account to the credit bureau, that has to been done by the creditor.

- B replies to JLThis is a ploy they use to try to get you to return the call to them to "remove you from our list". They give another person's name, and when you call they use the "ID number" to verify it is YOU - very deceptive!! (They may or may not request your real name "for our records" - give it to them under ANY circumstances at your peril!!)
Oftentimes, these companies also work as "verification companies". Once they have confirmed that you are, in fact, who they're REALLY looking for (rather than who they say in their messages they are looking for), they contact the person who employed them to do verification (usually an attorney's office, even more usually one of those sleazy debt-collection attorneys) and then, BAM!, you get hit with a lawsuit (or threats of a lawsuit) to try to force you to pay!!
My advice? NEVER answer the phone if you don't know who is calling you... and NEVER, EVER give out ANY personal infomation on yourself or anyone in your household over the telephone to ANYONE, regardless of who they claim to be!
Block their numbers, and you're done with them. Comcast allows you to do this by pressin *60 and following the instructions here. Given enough time, the statute of limitations runs out and then NO ONE can sue you, regardless of the debt!! (-;
Patience is the key. - doc replies to Billre they claim to represent
if you know the company (original ) call and ask them if they own the account.
if they say yes they do, inform the nitwits you will only deal with the original company.
if original company say they do not..... then inform the nitwits what they are doing
is a fraud. and report them to FTC and state attorney of the state the nitwits are
doing business, check to see if they are licensed to do business in your state. make
copies of all the paper works and send them a copy- the kind of postage they have
to sign for it... so they cannot claim they didn't get it...... if they persist in calling
report them for harassment, to their state attorney, FTC etc..
do research on the net to see what else available to you........ - DebThese people are completely annoying and do not have their facts straight at all. They try to get you to admit that you have a problem and try to confirm your complete name ( DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM).
If they were legit, they would have all the information they need. They have either lost track of who ever the person is they trully need to contact and/ or have miss information and will try to SCAM you into paying the debt of another person.
I told them that they were wrong and to check the information they supposedly had with the creditor for whom they have assumed the debt. '
They are complete rip offs as they claimed they would and have sinced repeatedly called my (cell) phone. I am with verizon and have just decided to have their number blocked.- Caller: Never trully identified themselves

- David P. AndrewsIt is a mistake to believe that the Statute of Limitations gets rid of the debt. It is still there if you owed it. It just makes them unable to collect it in court. Yes, in court, a proper defense is the Statute of Limitations. However, the debt is still owed and someone can try to collect it, but can not use the court to do so unless you do not appear in court to apply the Statute of Limitations. If a court date is set, you must appear to state to the judge that the Statute of Limitations has passed. If you do not appear (and the debt collection companies want that), a new valid collection (with a new Statute of Limitations) can be set up by the court. These guys are serious about getting money out of you, so beware and be wary. Also, unless you plan to pay the debt, do not make any payments or promises to pay or the time starts over from then for a new Statute of Limitations, now owed to them. I just got off the phone after calling them at 888-379-4884 and I can only hope that they will not call back.

- sick n' tired of being harassedI get 5-8 calls a day from this compnay. I have them blocked on my cell but they call repeatedly as early a 5:30am and as late as midnight. This has been going on for months. The first time they called I amswered and told them their info is oncorrect. My name but nothing else was right.. They were rude and talked over me anytime I would try to say something. I am going to change my number but that really puts me in a bind as I use my phone for personal use and business. There should be a way to stop this but I have not found it yet.

- GThey called and left a recorded message. We don't owe anybody any money. I guess I will write a letter to the Attorney General at both the State and Federal levels. This alleged Company probably don't care, but this will stop them from their harassment by Communications calls. If everybody who is harassed by them reports it it will stop. Yeah, it takes a few minutes to write a letter to the Goverment agencies that monitor these violations but that is the only way they will stop their harassment. I may even have my lawyer write a letter although it is not really necessary as the goverment agencies will stop the harassing calls. It appears their computers call thousands if not millions of phone numbers randomly looking for some poor soul who doesn't owe them any money but will send it to them anyway. In my opinion it is a scam.
