- EASBI got this call last night but did not pick up and there was no message left. I saw here that it was Bill Me Later/PayPal credit. So when they called again today, I decided to answer in case there was some issue with my account (which there shouldn't be, as I have a $0.00 balance). It is, in fact, PayPal Credit, as others have indicated. They asked for "David Johnson." I said simply that there was no David Johnson here, and she said she'd remove the number from the account. We have had our phone number for over 13 years, and no one in our family has a name that's even remotely close to "David Johnson," so I do wonder how they ever linked our number with his account. I assume "Mr. Johnson" just made up a random number that happened to be ours'.
- Caller: PayPal Credit
- J R MoneyCalls says nothing and hangs up.
- KiwaneReceived call from this number on 4/28/15 at 3:18p cst. The caller id says "Toll Free Call". I've never heard of a "Bill Me Later". I hope they never call back.

- jmsBeen getting several calls daily from this number. Checked here to see who it is, so I never answer. There should be some way to stop these annoying calls.
- edlooked up the number and found this to NOT be the correct number for BML but a scammer call. Paypal does not do business this way. called them back and they asked for my name, which i refused to give, then asked for my phone number. i asked who i was calling and she refused to tell me, saying 'i don't know who i am talking to'. i said, i don't know who i'm talking to and you called me first. i asked to be put on their do-not-call list and she said she couldn't tell my phone number (i think that's a lie - caller ID is very easy to get. i gave my phone number and said if they called me again i would report them and hung up.
- Caller: wouldn't say when asked

- Laura| 1 replyThis number was calling my person and private work number so I called them back and this is how the convo went:
"Hi thank you for calling ***(She mumbled but it began with an H) can I have your name?
"Laura *******"
"Can you verify your address?"
"I'm sorry I'm not giving out any more information because you guys keep calling my private person work number and I don’t know how you got it because i don’t give it out to anyone."
"You don’t have a business with us?"
"No"
"What’s the number we are calling?"
I gave it to her and she asked if there was a Derek ***** there. I said no and then she said she will have the number removed from their list.
Most likely a debt collector and someone gave them the wrong number. - Laura replies to Laura**PERSONAL and private phone number, not person lol
- RMI don't even know what 'bill me later' is. I've never heard of it. The representative asked me by name, when i asked who was calling, she refused to answer. she asked if she was speaking to the correct person because there was a 'very important business matter'. I work for a credit company. If you can't confidently give me the name of the company that you work, you are not a legit representative for any company. Scam.
- Call type: Debt collector
- JohnI, too, receive multiple calls from this number. I don't answer calls where the caller is not identified. Have been hit by scammers before and thanks to this website I am able to determine what is legal and illegal. Thanks you website and those that post!
- Lauriethey have called a couple of times asking for someone who no longer lives here and hasn't for about 20 years,
- bf1964Call repeatedly, even though I'm up to date on my account. Never leave a message, so I figure screw 'em. Sooner or later they'll update their system and leave me alone. If not, no big deal, I have no intention of talking to a customer service person when I'm current on my bills.

- mike replies to ChadThanks for the info.
- fay replies to jminnyI am having the same experience with BML. The Sun 8 o'clock calls no message or no answer when I answer the phone. I too had used BML several yrs ago and do not have an outstanding balance with them. What is their reason for calling?
- Grateful AlIt's PayPal Credit, formerly Bill Me Later
- Caller: PayPal

- Marie from NY| 1 replyTHEY NOW CALL IT "PAYPAL CREDIT"...no longer Bill Me Later since Paypal split from eBay I guess.
It is actually them calling, but they call at all hours when there is nothing wrong with your account and then claim they don't "see a reason to have called your number" and told me "YOU DO BUSINESS WITH PAYPAL CREDIT SO WE CAN CALL YOU"…UGH!!! The NERVE!!! They know they're harassing you and you're a customer and THEY DO NOT CARE!!!
This is legal harassment! They refuse to acknowledge they called, but they inset they are legally allowed to call and make no apology and offer no help to stop unwanted alls that have nothing legitimately to do with your account.
Is it just me, or is all of this getting worse by the second???- Caller: PAYPAL CREDIT (aka Bill Me Later)
- Marie in NY replies to Marie from NYHow to stop payal ad bill me later from calling and texting and selling your info:
if you have a paypal account, paypal credit account or bill me later account…first, login to paypal. Go to settings (wheel/dial icon on blue bar at top right). Then select "notifications". Then go to the botton of the notifications page and unclick!!! (repeat: unclick!!!) the box about info sharing under paypal credit!!! This stops them from being able to share your info, call you from partner companies, etc!!!
***on the same page, also
1) unselect every type of "notification" you don't want or need
2) unselect every kind of "news ans update" you do not want to receive and
****3)change your "ad preferences" at the last section of the page so you aren't being used for their advertising in any way.
Then login to bill me later and repeat this process.
****while at both paypal and bil me later, delete all but one phone number from your account and remove any other unnecessary contact info, old addresses, etc.***
they will just collect and use all the info they can so take it away from them!!!
Go to the security section fo your account while you're there and for god sakes, don't let them have access to your cell number!!! If you allow them to use a cell number (even for a new security setting purpose!!!) they will use it and distribute it to companies "with whom they do business" and you just opened yourself up to a text spamming nightmare because you were trying to create a new "level of security"!!! Read the fine print!!! - Concerned NYerSCAM ALERT!!! HEADS UP!!! if you get a call from this number, call it back on your own later!!! DO NOT ANSWER!!!
I just called PayPal..aka Paypal Credit, formerly Bill Me Later….THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHY THEY WOULD HAVE CALLED MY AT THIS TIE AND MY ACCONT SETTINGS DO NOT ALLOW FOR IT!!! They also confirmed that the calls CAME TO ME ON A NUMBER THEY DO NOT EVEN ASSOCIATE WITH MY ACCOUNT!!!
SO!!! THEY ARE INVESTIGATING!!! APPARENTLY THERE IS SCAM GOING ON THAT MAKES THE LEGIT NUMBER POP UP IN CALLER ID!!!! IF THEY GET YOU ON THE PHONE THEY WILL SCAM YOU FOR ALL KINDS OF INFO…But if you miss the call you harmlessly see the real, legit PayPal/PayPal Credit Phone number and if you cal it back you GET THE REAL PAYPAL CREDIT COLLECTIONS LINE!!! BUT, if you answer the scam call, that forces the real number up on on your caller ID the people on the other end ARE SCAMMERS HIDING BEHIND A FRAUDULENTLY USED BUT LEGIT PHONE NUMBER!!!!
****IF THIS NUMBER CALLS YOU, SIMPLY CALL IT BACK YOURSELF AND DO NOT ANSWER…THEN YOU WILL LEGITIMATE:Y REACH PAYPAL***
TELL THEM WHAT NUMBER YOU WERE CALED ON AND IF THEY SAY THEY SEE NO REASON TO CALL YOU, REFER TO THIS WEBSITE AND THESE REPORTS AND MAKE AN ADDITIONAL REPORT OF SUSPECTED FRAUDULENT USE OF THEIR NUMBER!!!****
HELP PROTECT THE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW ANY BETTER AND STOP THIS!!!!- Caller: NOT ACTUALLY PAYPAL IF THEY CALL YOU!!! BUT IT IS PAYPAL'S NUMBER!!! SEE NOTES
