The first time I received a call from this so called law firm they almost got me, now they are using a different phone number and law firm name and trying the same crap. This is a scam, totally.

I've been receiving calls for a few days now.  Same recording.....Charles Dickson....888 431 9131.  Says they need to serve me with papers at my residence or place of employment.  They are also calling my ex repeatedly, asking for somewhere to serve me.  This is pissing the ex off, as we have been divorcedfor many years and the name they are asking for is one I have not used in over 10 years.  My guess is that they got some old list from somewhere, and are calling random people threatening over "whatever" from years ago.  I will not call them back, but I will turn them in to the attorney General.  Damn idiots.

Hey, wanted u to know that I, too, used instantcheckmate.com a few days ago, before these calls started.  I did not go through with the payment and report, either.  This is very unsettling.

I keep getting calls from these people for some one. Yet when I tell them I don't know them the female yells the caller ID shows it is the person? I tell her caller ID for today doesn't mean anything; what address she has; she refused to give it. I have bought phones and gotten a number and almost EVERY FRAKING TIME I get bill collectors calling it for some one I don't know...
She rattles off a S.S. number and I tell her I will not answer that type of question since I do not know who she is and what the call is about. I ask for their address to send them documents to not contact me and stop calling me and waking me up. She yells more and makes dire threats of having me immediately arrested for check fraud, then hangs up. I call back two more times second call same result yells at me and hangs up. Third time I get elevator music and then it stops no one talking; I'd speculate she was listening. I almost forgot I ask for her supervisor and she told me the "attorney" is out of the office. I talk into the silent phone with an active call telling her if she is listening  again do not call this number again, I am also filing a complaint with my states AG Office and FILING A POLICE REPORT for harassment. Which I did. What evidence do I have about these calls? Simple I recorded them, all three times. and provided copies with the police report and with the AG's Office.
I still do not know what these morons are doing nor do I care; all I want is to stop them from calling my number and waking me up. I can't turn the ringer off due to my job.
I'd speculate again these people are nothing more than debt scavengers; they buy old debts and try to collect on them. Check your states statue of limitations IF the debt is yours. After a number of years and no one has filed legal action against you and it is past the date cut off; they more likely can go suck on a tail pipe. Also as some have mentioned NEVER EVER GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER OR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION; ESPECIALLY YOUR BANK INFORMATION. They will suck your account dry regardless of what ever they claim. I have seen it happen to friends.
What I have mentioned I am not giving any legal advice; just my opinion; get that advice from a parasite lawyer instead..

I will be providing a link to all the recorded calls with these idiots. They cuss, yell, scream and whats worse... I bet you there is nothing to sue... nothing to go after. I could be wrong, but I think this is a scam operation. They must have purchased or otherwise obtained my information. Wow... If there is something to find, I will find it... if not, all you can do is block this stupid number.

@all - I am very curious if anyone who has posting in this thread has been given any type of address (even if it is a PO box) or referred to any website that is supposedly for this "firm"?  This could be a starting point to get the ball rolling and track down what entity is making these calls

One is affinity payment solutions. The other is Curtis Peyton law. Everyone report them. Got disabled kids myself. Never had debt never been on welfare or taken out a loan. They keep calling me from different numbers and saying and calling me filthy names and saying I am scum and to pay my bills. I don't have any....lol. been calling them for hours now. They are so dumb that they keep accidentally picking up. Already called the police and they don't  even want then number info. Guess we need to blow up their lines till they have to scrap them. You would think that the police would want the info to do something about it but no that US not the case.. damn scammers taking advantage of people with no clue that mean to take care of whatever debt they might owe. I plead with you all to fight back!!!

You are right!!!! Been calling over and over for hours......finally getting under their skin. They answer saying hi d... head. Or d. Bag. I promise you all I won't stop I can do this tell their lines are overwhelmed. But if you join in and blow up their whole system at least they will have to scrap their numbers.

I read these comments daily, and I come away angry and disgusted.  What is painfully clear is that these bottom feeders are becoming more aggressive, more bold, more threatening, more criminal, and more sure of themselves.  But 800notes is full of excellent advice and hints.  As long as we keep posting our stories we can prevent more people from falling victim to these scams.  Knowledge is power!

Very true. My heart rejoices every time I see a shill here trying to defend a fraudulent company or activity because it's more proof that his site is working and cutting into their profits. And of course they're never here more than a few minutes without being called out and eviscerated.

Consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
