- ny999telephone terrorism!!
- You DIDN'T win! replies to I WinYou don't get it. You were forced to buy a toy for almost $100, and it has limits. PLUS, it doesn't handle CELL phones.
My much simplier solution...if I don't have the number in memory, or identify the caller, I just don't pick up the phone. Yeah, the phone still may ring a few times a day, but the caller-id takes care of business. In fact, my phone has an audible caller-id, so the name is spoken.
Oh, and my phone also has a BLOCK list. If I get called more than 2 times, it goes in Blocked. Rings once, then disconnects! I WIN!!! - MidNyteStorm1I think it has been a little over a month since their last call. This is the second time I requested to be put on their do not call list.
Charity or not, they should honor my request.- Caller: LFA Pickup
- Lulu replies to BurgerMeister| 1 replyYou can block calls with Verizon (do not disturb feature - and allow 10 numbers to ring through), with certain Panasonic phone models (up to 30 numbers), and with Digitone (which I believe is unlimited).
- Simon replies to BurgerMeisterPhone Tray has a call blocker with unlimited numbers. I got one and it works great.
- Donald PolitiToo many calls! Enough. What balls these people have to call over and over.
- Caller: Lupus Foundation
- Call type: Telemarketer
- BillI send each caller a form letter indicating that I intend to sue them in small claims court. I tell them I intend to subpoena witnesses from their organization.. Then I include a filled out but not yet filed complaint for small clAims court in my county in NJ demanding $3000 (this is the maximum claim). This has worked well. I even got The Share Group to stop calling me and they were the worst offender.
- Kelly replies to BurgerMeisterGo to Callcentric, you have total control. I do.
- ny999They come in waves from multiple numbers!
Scam-scam-scam!!!! - MidNYteStormI asked them to place my number on their do not call list and they are still calling. If this really is the Lupus Foundation, I do not consider this an honorable charity.
- Chase HamilApparently this is the Lupis Foundation asking you to donate used clothing. However, these calls come at least once a week (annoying) and there is no surefire way to get your number removed from their call list. The FCC needs to rethink their exemption rule which allows charitable organizations to call whenever they want. My right to sleep after a hard days work trumps their "right" to call people who want to be left the hell alone.
- Caller: Lupis Foundation
- Call type: Non-profit organization

- MeCard Member Services- when you ask them to stop calling they hang up on you!

- JTOB replies to BurgerMeisterIf you're willing to spend a little money for peace of mind go on Amazon and see all the different call blockers that they carry. I bought one for $50 and have blocked over 100 calls. Try one and if you don't like it you can return it to Amazon. From up to 10 calls a day to days without any calls is worth it.
- MidNYteStormPeople need to realize this is a forum for people to share their experiences and warn others about unwanted calls. It will not put a stop to the calls.
- MidNYteStormYet another unwanted call from this so called charity. I can accept the fact that charities are exempt from the DNC registry, but when you tell somebody to put a specific number on their DNC call list, they should honor that request. If they were a half way decent charity, they would honor my request.
- MidNYteStormThis time I stayed on the phone when I requested that they put our number on their do not call list and the person stayed on to confirm the number called and said that they would make arrangements to honor my request. I only hope they do.
- MidNYteStorm replies to I WinI read somewhere that the catch is that you have to tell ask them to put you on their do not call list. As silly as this might be, it sounds like something politicians politicians would do.
- Irish| 1 replyThey will, it is Lupus foundation and they are very compliant.
I do donate and there are times when they call soon after a donation, I politely inform them of my recent donation and ask them to hold calls for 6 months, they always honor my request.- Caller: Lupus Foundation
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Anonymous ScambusterYou all are right that the caller is Lupus Pickup. I called back & asked them to remove my #. I'm writing mainly to add to another writer's comment who alluded to the fact that charities are exempt from "Do Not Call" laws. (!@#$%^&*()_+!! 'tis true amd it SUCKS because many scams escape the "Do Not Call" laws under the guise of phony charities.
For legit ones like this, we just have to wait on hold & hope they honor our requests to have our #'s removed. IF, you CAN prove a caller is a dirty, rotten, cheating, scoundrel scam, than file every "Do Not Call" complaint that you can with the FTC site (at
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
Only we can prevent scam liars
(Meanwhile, keep helping those real charities that WE want to when we want to IF they don't annoy the living crap out of us...)
