I get a call daily from this number.

Harassing call to subscribe to the Globe and Mail.  Said "NO", but like a drone he continued his pitch without acknowledging my answer.  "NO" means NO!!   Just makes me resentful of that newspaper.  And will not even read anything from them, on paper or electronic.  It's sad when a great paper becomes spam.

Right on Bubba.  I will report them to the police as well.

Dead air.  I.E. no one at the other end.  

Je ne parviens même pas à bloquer ce numéro alors que je peux le faire pour d'autres avec le service de videotron. Même si ce numéro est déjà dans les numéros bloqués, ils peuvent quand même m'appeler. De préférence quand nous nous reposons, les fins de semaine, à l'heure des repas, etc. C'est décourageant de se faire ainsi harceler...

This is a debt collector for what?  An un paid bill duh!!!

I just got a call from 888-682-0070. I did not take this call because I do not know who this caller is. I see that this is the Globe & Mail trying to sucker in new subscribers. I only go for ALTERNATIVE NEWS & VIEWS so this caller can forget calling me.

888-682-0070 called again. I did not answer and the caller left no message. These callers seem much worst since Harper became Prime Minister. Just an observation.

Nov 1/14 - call from this number - I never answer 800's  but reading the reports here sure would like to see ban on those auto dialers - if they want me identify yourself and have a person on line  ughhhhhh

I wonder if they realize getting a call every day for 3 weeks might be considered annoying?  Everybody....go to a Globe and Mail street box and take all their newspapers. Please recycle.

Received a call from the same number today.  Have call display, so did not answer.  The Do Not Call list is a joke.  the federal government should ban these type of calls.  We are thinking about cancelling our landline with Bell.  Over 90% of the calls to our home are similar to this one; charities, duct cleaning, windows/doors, you have won a trip, surveys.

Never answered (not at home) and no message left, this number called our landline in London three times in the winter this year:

Also received a call from this number on Thursday December 4 2014, ~ 2:30 pm.  Didn't recognize it / didn't answer.  These posts seem to confirm that was the most energy efficient route.  Thanks.

You can ask repeatedly to be removed from their calling lists but they ignore the requests.
This seems to be some sort of go to telepest for Canadian companies who want to circumvent the Do Not Call Lists.
Among other the Globe and Mail uses them, at least one of the banks.   I guess the law doesn't apply to Big Banks an Business

Got a call, didn't answer and let them enjoy the fax tone after 3 rings.

They called here this morning around 10.  I'm in Ottawa.  Didn't answer since it's 888.

Yep, got a call from them. Didn't answer the phone and I've blocked them out. Only way to stop these harassing calls is not to answer the phone, and better still, not to buy the stuff they're peddling. If you have spoken to them, let us know here what they are peddling so that we can boycott the company.
