Thanks to all the above comments telling me that this was a telemarketer, I didn't have to get annoyed after answering the phone! Thanks!

if a telemarketer calls and asks for your name tell them he died of an undiscovered disease that can be spread thru the phone lines and they just caught it. see if they hang up quick

Called, didn't answer. Blocked.

Received the call but didn't answer thanks to call display. Never answer calls from 800 or 888 numbers.

Same Alex as above. Got the call again but ignored since it was an 888 number.

Same Alex again. Obviously they've got me on the "Call every morning at 9 am even if he's too smart to answer our scam calls but we're too stupid to get the picture and he doesn't mind because every call costs them money and time" list.

I have a USB USRobitics modem that shows the calling number on the taskbar.
I simply answer as a fax if I am near the computer.

Cannot get rid of the calls coming from this number. Any deas?

Most call-screening services don't work on 800, 888 etc numbers or on numbers that come from computer phones. Yeah, useless, right?

yes just call back and hit 1  - it says it will remove you.

Calls almost daily. Today I answered to emloyees having a loud, crass conversation directly into the phone. They either couldn't hear me or didn't care, and disconnected the call after about 5-10 seconds. These [***] telemarketing companies are getting whats coming to them- they're paying their employees to be useless as [***]! (I've got this great new vocabulary from their conversation to boot)

Fri Oct. 26 at 8:41 PM, and
Fri Nov. 2 at 6:46 PM.

Last got this call back in October. Obviously they've come around to my number again. I wish there was a way to blanket block all 800, 888, etc numbers. Those numbers were never actually supposed to be used for OUTGOING calls anyway.

Me again. They're still trying... You know a caller is bad when you realize you've memorized their number.

called the number back and had an option to remove my number form their list. hope it works.
