Can anyone tell me what this company is phoning about?

They called and I just played the radio for them and they hung up...[***], so annoying...

I have FREE call blocking ... these people got the AXED!

Not in business so why are they calling me - they are so annoying

Call from Globe & Mail regarding subscriptions. Sadly, allowed by the federal government & not covered by NDNCL.

The NDNCL is a joke anyway..Since a good number of the call centres also do collections they just abuse the crap out of the list anyway..

If this is G&M they shouldn't be calling me. We have never subscribed to any newspaper. Either way, number is now blocked.

these jerks called me yesterday. I didn't answer and hey didn't leave a message.

they called a few times since but I'm not picking up the phone for them.

This is a telemarketing company.  I called the number back and was prompted to press #1, to have our number removed from their list.  Will keep you updated if that worked.  It gets so annoying!!!!

WOW, they keep calling. I called back and put my # in not to call again. Lets see if it works!

just called me too. I have that call indicator that rings 3 times for a long distance caller so I just ignored it. These guys drive me nuts!!!!! I will never buy anything from them as a payment for annoying me - I'm sure most people feel that way also

Globe and Mail left me an unsolicited free copy of their (excellent) newspaper last week.  Now they're calling every few days, to see if I will subscribe again.  I'd call them myself if I did, so this is just annoying. Worst of all, the number cannot be blocked.  Shameful.

Five days later, another call from this unblockable number -- so I DID call back, only to find it is for sure a general telemarketer.  

As Penny did in Nov (above), today I used the option to have my number removed within one week of now.  Will try to remember to let you know if that does work!!

I got a bunch of calls from people who sound like they are in a hut, somwehere deep in Africa. They used my last name as if it was my first, had no english language to speak of, and so I blocked them using that feature on my Panasonic phone. They tried calling again, from a blocked number, and I used my WHISTLE to deafen them.

They indicated they were calling about my credit card, but couldn't even tell me which card company, or the card number, or the name on the card.

If I had the time, I'd report them to the FBI, or the RCMP if in Canada. So I called one of my credit card companies, and got them to give me a bogus card number to use so that the cops could trace them. Next time they use the card, they'll find their [***] in jail.

I told them I hate their Newspaper - see if that keeps them away -------?????

Newspapers are exempt from calling  BUT if you say do not phone they must honor that request
That was told to me by the CRTC.   It is the same for any company etc in CAnada who is exempt
If you say No  Have not had business with them.  They must honor that.

So file a complaint with the CRTC everytime they call after you tell them not to call you number
I think they have about 10 days to get your number off their list  If they persist keep complaining

We finally got caller ID on Thursday and it has already saved me 3 annoying phone calls.  This one just phoned a few minutes ago.  Love it Bubba on Feb 12 about the whistle.   We all hate the globe and mail around here so at least I don' t have to listen to them try and sell it.
