- KJML| 2 repliesGot one today in Mount Juliet....looked very fake, glad I took a moment to look it up. I kind of want to call them and jerk their chain a little bit if I have time.

- jrock replies to PeggyI called the EcoWater Systems in La Vergne and ask, "what parcel delivery do you have for me". The young lady studdered and acted dumb. I repeated myself and she said, "oh, that dept isn't open yet, can I take you name and number and get them to return your call".
- West Wilson ResidentGot the card today in West Wilson County. Looked fishy, sure enough, it is. What is funny, is EWS is the name of a railway parcel service in partnership with DHL in the UK, making it even a bit more sneaky...

- ScottGot a card today 6 mar 09 saying the same about a parcel delivery. It did not have the full name of the company (just EWS) no return address or any other info about the company. It seems odd to me that a company that is accredited by the BBB would not be willing to give some more info about themselves on the postcard. They might get some real bussiness that way. As for me, I'm not gonna take a chance with them!

- Will Deere replies to annoyed person| 1 replyI got the postcard is today's mail and checked the BBB site. Thanks to another poster, I had the company name because EWS is not on the BBB site. According to BBB, this company (EcoWater Systems of Middle Tennessee) has an A+ rating with no complaints in the last 36 months! Obviously, they are using an unethical marketing ploy in this case. I'm sure the parcel is one of their water purification systems and there will be plenty of charges to go with it.
BTW, this site is fantastic! - KJML replies to KJML| 1 replyFollow-up....I did call, just for fun, since I knew their gameplan...sure enough, the young lady who answered the hpone was extrememly cheerful and friendly as she asked for the control number. I ignored that question and asked her about the company--what did they deliver? She explained about the parcel that could only be determined based on my control number, but that it also came with a water analysis. She got VERY defensive when I said, "Oh so your like a water company then?" I asked her about the parcel, if it is one that someone had mailed to me (knowing full well it was not). At this point, the cheerfulness and friendliness was about gone, I told her that I did not want what they were peddling. It gave me a few minutes of fun though.
- LizzieWe received our card today from EWS in the Triune area. What worries me is that some neighbors may not think to get on the internet to check it out and may fall for their ploy, wasting time and money. I would think the BBB would not like their name used this way in this type of marketing. Thanks for the website!

- WisemanGot same card Mine says accredited business BBB. Leading one to believe that the Better Business Bureau is behind their good standing. Trashed the card didn't call. Google is awesome.
EWS stand for Excellent Wicked Scam. - Antioch Res.Got the same thing. Google rocks!! If I had a parcel delivery, why didn't the postman deliver it instead of this postcard? That is the question that made me do a search on EWS. Thanks to this website, and Google I delivered it to the RECYCLE BIN.

- pat replies to cccI too received the "Parcel Delivery" card with a control #..Does anyone out there have a clue to what kind of scam this is??? I am waiting for a reply. I haven't called the #888 727-2350 yet and after reading this page I will just ignore the card.
- growerMy elderly mother in Antioch received the postcard from EWS stating we have a delivery for you, and to call 1-888-727-2350. The card also had BBB Accredited Business logo stamped on it, just like others received, and her address was on a printed label on the front, and no return address to see where the postcard was from. I told her not to call it and she did not. I googled and found this. BBB should do something. Isn't that what they are for? I work a few miles from this place and plan to raise a ruckus there today. Shameful and upsetting.

- What we needSince these nuisances won't go away, perhaps a different approach is needed.
Obviously they aren't doing this to save the world, they are doing it to sell something. I would assume that the something is their bottled water. Since this is tied in with a water analysis, the likelihood is that they are going to find something wrong in order to induce sales. Or they will exaggerate some trivial reading to make it sound bad.
What we need is for some people who know for certain that they have pristine tap water to get the free analysis and see what it says. It would be even better to take additional samples at the same time and have your own independent analysis done for purposes of comparison. It's not that expensive. Then will prove exactly how far they will go to sell their water. - The Campbells replies to KD@CT| 2 repliesI too received a postcard in the mail stating that "We have a parcel delivery for you". I am always skeptical of garbage such as this. I knew that the first thing I would do this morning was Google the number. Step two; file a complaint with the BBB. Here it is April 2009 and this company is still at it. Does anyone ever truly do anything about these deceitful and fraudulent companies???? I'd like to call just to give them a piece of my mind.
