- Timothy Lavoie| 1 replySome Telemarketing company called about a company listing in some directory. Then out of nowhere we get charged $59.97 for nothing. The call was muffled and full of static. We denied permission to charge us anything and we did not give our credit card number to anyone. This is a complete fraud.
The company that charged our card is called ELGTECH. The 888-729-1134 number is disconnected.- Caller: Not sure
- Call type: Telemarketer
- D. Kelly replies to Timothy LavoieI didn't get a call.... My CC Companf called me when they received the charge. I assume the cc Company is getting alot of these.
- D. KellyI didn't get a call from ELGTECH, but I got one from my CC company wanting to know if I new about the charge. Have any of you done business with a company in Hollywood, FL called Nutrigenic Life. It's the only link I can think of at this time.
- AldonaI recently took a look at my bank statement and saw almost $90 charged to my account from El G Tech 88 that I know I didn't make. I tried to look the company up online, but I only got websites in Spanish, claiming that it was some sort of lighter adaptar for your car. I called my bank and got the number 888.729.1134. I tried calling them to see what this was, but the number was "temporarily disconnected." I called my bank back and reported the fraud right away. This is obviously a scam. Call your banks and request a change of card and the money back.
- TroyI just received a call today from my Visa credit card company about a charge of $87.13 plus $2.95 that showed up on my account. Luckily, my card company (Capital One) immediately cancelled the charge and I'm changing my account number as well. I'd suggest that all of you change your number as well. Good Luck!
- Izzy replies to sidraroseMy debit card too was charged two separate payments of $63.18 & $2.95, and this is how it looked on my statement: ELGTECH 888-729-1134 HASLEMERE SURGBFRGN. I definitely reported it to my bank, and I also did my own investigation, where I managed to get the address of its possible source:
ELEGANT TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED
72 HIGH STREET
HASLEMERE
SURREY
GU27 2LA
This is obviously a UK address, and when I called their number, an automated voice said that the number has been 'temporarily disabled'. I'm quite certain this is a scam, especially after reading a few posts here. The posts definitely match each other about this. Crazy scammers! - Carlos| 1 replythis is a great service, this type of site, when we get screwed by the same scammers.
i am 100% sure its the ACAI berry company.
they sucker you in with a free product, and cheap shipping, then they ding you full amount after 10days for a new batch. the same goes for the teeth whitening stuff. in there terms, they state they are going to screw you after 10days. then they make it impossible to to contact them, non working phones, no emails... just a bill to pay.
the credit card companies, though they work to give you back your money, are at fault. i called them, told them how the scam works, and asked them to block any transactions from them. the f*&*ing goofs said i can't block companies from charging my card! that is one of the top 10 stupidest things i have EVER heard in my life!- Caller: ACAI Berry / Teeth Whitening
- annnomI luckily check my account all the time with it being the holidays and i see the charge of $63.18 and another for 2.95. thank you all for the post otherwise i may have never gotten to the bottom of this!!
- carrie replies to CarlosI did an acai berry order and they put an automatic renewel on my card but never sent me the product and now this charge is on my cc. when calling even the acai berry number it was disconnected
- Charles replies to james m.smithThey got me for $63.18
- Susan replies to Robin Hme too oh my gawd, what can we do
- JesseA week or so ago my father got a call to an old cell phone of mine that he is using. Now I have three different charges to my bank account one for 3.00 37.00 and for 2.97 I have reported the charges to the bank as fraud charges. The best way to shut those people down is report the charges to the bank and let them know that elgtech are fraudulent charges so they and put a stop to all transactions coming through by this company name.

- Guy in IdahoI just found a charge of $87.13 plus $2.95 on my cc this AM Dec24. I called the # and got" this number is disconnected" I called my banks fraud dept & they're stopping the card and re-issue new one. Act immediately if this happens to you. If they have your cc# they will use it over and over until you cancel. Call your bank or issuer of the card NOW.

- CharlieD replies to Diana| 2 repliesI just got a charge of $87.49 plus Shipping $2.95. This is the same amount that was taken earlier by Nutrimax Labs/El Tecal in Panama/Nutrigenic Life (also in the UK) - Dietmax Cleanse - Profit Vault. I have been trying for the last two months to get reimbursed. They have had a busy signal for the past 3 days. I called the 888-729-1134 number and it has been temp disabled. I even filed a complaint with the BBB of Chicago back in October. The BBB has given them a "F" rating. They informed me that they contacted them 3 times with no response. This is a bogus company, with a lot of DBAs that they use. It is a fraud, scam, racket, rip-off and dishonest company who has cheated people around the world. Once they get a credit card number they won't stop billing. I canceled the account, but they still keep billing. There is another website for complaints. I will let you know the exact web address. We need a "Class Action" suit against them.
- S.O.C. replies to CharlieDyea they just charged me $38 on my card after pumping gas...wat all of yall need 2 do is file a visa/master card dispute wit ur banks.ur money will b reembursed n ur card cancelled u'll receive a new one so this company cant pull any more money outta ur accounts!
- CharlieD replies to CharlieDThe website for complaints is: complaintsboard.com/complaints/ Click on item #8 DietMax. Check out these many pages (15). I am convinced these are one of the same company, as there is a list of many names (dba-doing business as). Their main office is in El Tecal, Panama with offices in Chicago, Miami, plus 12 International offices.) and probably more like Tuscon, AZ). If you know of any "class action" suit, I want to be included.
- MISSMIMO replies to Terryi had a transaction of $1.97 and & $49.67 taken from my account on 23-12-2010 dont even know this company, i am living in the uk and went straight to the bank had a refund and reported it to the fraud division, advised to cancel my card which i will do, absolutely gutted especially at this time of year, who do they think they are this has happened twice in 2 months there will not be a third !!!!!!!!!!
