- SHAN replies to HOW CAN WE FIND THEM?The number to this company is 18772923588 as of 1/20/2011. They have scammed me out of 87.13 and refuse to give it back. No product has been received..They claim to have shipped the item 3 times. (Trial) which was only supposed to be 2.95 then I cancelled.
- shanthis company has a new number..they are scammers no matter if you ordered a free trial or not..it does not give them the right to keep billing if you have called to cancel! the number to reach them as of today is 1-877-292-3588. it takes them about 1 hour or so to answer the phone and they are very rude.
- Call type: Survey
- ChrisI have also been done for 76.53AUD
Just canceled my card- Caller: ELGTECH
- Jean StewartI did not receive a phone call nor did I order anything on the internet, a bill was charged direct to my Credit Card account in the amount of $2.95 and $63.18. I tried the phone number and the number is disabled. I am going to have to cancel my card now and contact those who have authorization to auto matic deduct. This is a scam without even ordering so people be ware of what you even look at on the internet. I do not recal opening any web site of interest without researching before hand and I have protection for hackers but somehow they got through.
- ambersue1 replies to Me TooI also bought the ACAI Berry crap after doing research on the product and thought it was all good, but after trying it I didn't like it and cancelled the membership. They have continued to take money from my account and I call EVERY day about my refund and am told the same thing every day, it will take 7-10 business days. It has been almost 3 months. They just charged me for yet another shipment that I did not receive and I contacted my bank. I cancelled my card and got a new one, I will never see the money they already got from me, but at least they can't take any more.
- ABNERNOHITI protested this charge ("elgtech 888-729-11340" - PHONE "TEMPORAILY UNAVAILABLE") on my Visa /Capital One card, and was treated as tho I was questioning a sacred vendor. I was told to wait 14 days for a response, after being transferred twice, and left with someone who I suspect was Ukranian born and didn't seem to care that the 14 day wait might cause me to become a late pay on the current. bill.l
- ABNERNOHITThis phone no was given to Capital One when they put an unauthorized $59.97 on my card, but when I tied to contact ELGTECH, I, too, got a recording that the Number is temporarily disabled. I am still unable to find they are selling, but they list themselves with Capital One, as I was told, as providing all kinds of consulting services from investing to on line dating -Maybe a different one each week????????????
- Laurie| 1 replyI was also charged $87.00 and $2.95 by Elgtech. It was after I ordered some kind of Acai Berry stuff that doesn't work. I tried right when the 10 days were up that you could cancel and return the product and was never able to reach anyone. Half the time the phone number didn't even work. Then when I got charged the $87.00 I called that phone number listed and it said it was temporarily disconnected. I am currently trying to work with my credit card company to get the charges reversed. They are willing to call Diet Max with me on the line during Diet Max's Business hours (which after you get the recording saying when their business hours are and you call them during those hours you don't get anyone on the phone) and get these charges reversed for me. We will see!
- Caller: Diet Max
- Laurie replies to BankManI have to disagree with you about all the responsibility being on the cardholder. I knew that the diet pills had to be cancelled within 10 days, and I tried to do exactly that. Unfortunately, I was never able to reach a person with the 800 number that I got with my order. All I ever got was music playing on the other end, and I tried calling several times at different times of the day and still never reached anyone to be able to cancel. I was also shipped the pills without any type of return address where I could even return them with a cancellation. This is purely a scam, or it wouldn't be so hard to cancel. I am having my credit card company take care of this situation for me.
- Wayne LeBlancReceived a charge on my Visa for $82.24 and $3.08. Bogus chanrges. Called the above number and the number is no longer in service. Hopefully Visa will reimburse me.
- Ginger| 3 repliesI received a charge on my account for 59.97 and a service fee of .48. I had no idea what this was for and of course the full phone number was not printed. After reading some of these previous post, I also recall ordering from a Tooth Whitening company about 6 months ago. I can only assume they kept my credit card info on file and processed this charge. The bank did refund me fully. Why can't our instition the account that these charges are being deposited into be traced and find out who is committing this fraudulent activity and prosecute them?
- Caller: ELGTech
- Alys replies to ginaI found two charges on my credit card from this company for around £60 total. I had never heard of them and keep tabs on items I charge to my credit card so I can check them off on my bill! I'm glad I check my bill! I googled the company and found this and other information telling me this was credit card fraud! I called my credit card provider and they immediately cancelled my card and refunded the money.
- Cindy MuskopfI have no idea who this is. Received a charge on my account for 87.13 and 2.95. Tried to call and they said the number is disconnected. Would love to know who they are!

- ScubaGirl replies to BankManI disagree with BankMan as well. I have never ordered diet pills but I have requested a free trial offer from a tooth whitening company. I did cancel the future orders within the time frame required and that was about 6 months ago. Why are they just charging my card now? It is most definitely a scam and not an oversight on the cardholder's part. If it were an oversight I would not have noticed the unapproved charges. I check my account several times a day.
- k replies to Try using Dictionary.com o wise oneFirstly I would like to point out that there is no way you have been scammed by answering a blocked/no number call and having no one on the other end ... Unless that is that you decided to start reciting your credit card details when no one responded??
I work for a credit card company and see people calling to complain about these companies ALL THE TIME!
99.99999% of the time they have signed up for a free trial of some kind and as stated in previous comments didn't read the T & C and follow the rules.
Perosnally I am not fammiliar with this company but I can almost promise you that it is related to something that you have done online some time in the last 12months.
My advise to people - DONT sign up for these free trials of health products etc unless you are planning on using the service for a long time. These companies are nearly impossible to get in contact with to cancel. Also if you do set up a direct debit on a credit card, be aware the only way to stop it is to contact the company taking the money, even cancelling you card wont stop it. And contact them in writing so you have proof that you have done so! - gator replies to sidraroseMy husband noticed this charge on our credit card and asked me about it, after confirming that I had not made any purchase from this place - I googled the address and then all these people started saying the same thing and that we had been scammed also. Called Cr. card fraud- reported it and are getting replacement cards.
- AnnI also received charges from ELGTECH on 12-22-10 in the amounts of $74.26, $2.95 and two foreign transaction fees of $0.08 and $2.22. My credit card company called me immediately to notify me of these unusual and unauthorized charges. They closed out my credit card account for me and stopped payment on these charges. I am very happy that I have an alert credit card company.

- barbara replies to Lauriethe same thing happen to me ,in Sept. I was charged Dietmax 87.47,I returned the product and was still charged, now on Dec.22,2010 I was charged by Elgtech 87.47 and2.95 .what is really going on?
- rcPLEASE EVERYONE report this company to the BBB. You probably won't get your money back , but it will aid investigators to shut this scam company down. I am a victum , too and am very upset and I was told by VISA that they have received a lot of complaints, but not enough people are taking the time to file a complaint!
- Diana replies to Katherine FodorIt's not an English Company - this address belongs to a company in the UK who incorporates non UK based companies. These financial transactions are coming from the US (or possibly Panama), as they are in dollars. It is a company called Elegant Technologies, who do not actually have a UK address, and they are based in Panama, although they may previously have been known as Diet Max / Acai Max Cleanse. The English company that incorporated them could give me no contact details for them at all. I advised them that this scam had happened and don't they carry out any due diligence on the companies that they incorporate / deal with - assistant didn't appear at all knowledgeable.
