- Richard Wade replies to Karen in KYJust noticed that we've also been scammed for £63 - my wife ordered some 'free' Acaia Berries in November but yesterday we were charged by these scammers to the tune of £58 plus £5 for an exchange into US Dollars. Googled the scum-bags name today (merry xmas!) and the address actually belongs to an Estate Agents. Regards Rich

Good luck and Merry Christmas!! - HateScammersMine also had the 59.97 charge on 12/17/10. I don't know about any acai berry pills or anything because I have never used my credit card to purchase anything like that online. The only thing I used it for online is paying bills through secure websites. Since I don't use my card on anything but secure websites, I'm not sure how my information was compromised. My advice to anyone to whom this has happened is to get in touch with your card's issuing bank immediately to have the card cancelled, a new one issued, and get your money back from this fraudulent charge. Also, don't bother with the phone number included on your credit card statement... it's just as fraudulent as the charge. I hope that whoever is responsible for this scam is caught and punished because this type of thing is happening far too often these days. Someone needs to have an example made of them.
- AngieI also got charged $59.98 and the bank said I would have to go into the branch and file a false claim report. THe phone number is disconnected so this is definately a scam.
- charlaine brousseauMy credit card was charged $90,10 US dollar This is how it looked on my statement: ELGTECH 888-729-1134 POS HASLEMERE SUR GB 358893. I knew I didn't make any purchases of that amount so I tried googling the name, nothing came up. I called the phone number and it was a basic "customer service" line that said there was no one available to speak with. They told me to leave my name, #, & email & they would get back to me so I did (not email) then it hung up on me. This was 12-17-10, I haven't heard back from them yet.
So I googled the phone number. Many websites that were linked to each other came up. They were all a specific porn site. One site (sams-stories.com) came up where a person mentioned on their blog about their card being charged ect. etc. Their story matched mine.
I guess I'm a victim of some kind of identity theft. I keep daily track of my accounts online so I was able to catch this & immediatly reported it & closed my card. For all those who don't have internet access the next best thing is calling the bank by phone number.Caller: Elegant Technologies - AngelaMy credit card was also charged on Dec 23 2010 by ELGTECH 888-729-1134 HASLEMERE for $ 90.72 & an additional charge of $ 3.08 . I also tried the acai berry pills in Nov. and tried to get my money back within the 10 day trial offer. I called over and over until I got to talk to a supervisor and argued with them about getting my money back. They refused to refund me the entire amount but agreed to a $ 20.00 refund. I was furious that I got ripped off. I thought that would be the end of them but obviously not.I will be contacting my bank first thing in the morning to report this unauthorized charge.I hope that with all these complaints that I will not have any problems getting my money back.
- dpSame here. ELGTECH for 59.97 and a "Foreign Transaction Fee" for 1.20.

- gelAloha guys watch out for another company who's stealing money from us their name is surgeit*cranktech and the phone number that the bank gave me was 1-877-405-9077 they also charge me for $89.41 I call up that number immediately and it was disconnected..
- Laquisha Williams| 2 repliesWow this is so messed up! Since this is happening to so many people someone should have done something about this by now. This happened to me right before christmas which set me back on my shopping for the holidays. This phone number my bank gave me was also disconnected so my only choice is to cut ma losses and cancel ma card and apply for a new one. When i recieved my bank note it said Elgtech 888-729-1134 Ha GB and they took $87.78. I have ordered some acai berry supplements and pure cleanse and they offered me a monthly plan but i refused this offer and somehow they still took money out of my account. I just wouldnt wish this upon anyone.
- Lori replies to Laquisha Williams| 1 replyI ordered the acai berries trail bottle back in nov. Before the ten days I had to cancel they had charged my card. I called 5 times to talk to these idiots to get it cancelled and the charge taken off my card. They sent me an email I had to reply to and fill information in exactly as they told me to and then I would receive a confirmation email that it was cancelled. Well I never got conf email so called them back and they said acct was cancelled. Was charged again dec 22 from this elgtech for same amount I did in Nov so I tried calling acaimax number and it was a recording saying all circuits were busy. Well I happened to find another number one of the customer service people had given me when I called in Nov. I said I was calling in reference to order # what ever it was and they said it was shipped last week. I said I cancelled that back in Nov and they said it never was cancelled. So everyone cancel there card that got charged or these people are going to keep scamming you. I never even received the trail bottle by the wayl These people should pay for what there doing. Jerks. Anyways if anyone needs number for acaiberry they got scammed for it is 1-866-889-2187.I reported them to federal trade commission and attorney generals office. They should be turned into CIA AND FBI.
- Lizzie in A.Z.| 1 reply$59 appeared as a charge in my banking account followed by 48 cents. I called the number listed, 888-729-1134 and it said it was disconnected, in my account the name was "EGTECH" and it's in Great Britain.
- Caller: ELGTECH
- Richard Wade replies to Lizzie in A.Z.These people really are scum-bags - I'm pretty sure that these guys are US based (despite the false UK address) as our £63 was transferred into US Dollars. The only true thing that ELGTECH said was that by using these berries she would would lose weight; she has, 63 pounds!
- B.J.Called my cc fraud department today after noticing a charge for over $74 and a $2.95 from the same Elgtech on my bill. I check every day. I used my card to get gas last and this must be when it happened. The cc comp. immediately closed the account and is sending me a new card. I won't be charged for the fraudulent activity. A good reason to be diligent watching your charges. Pain in the butt, but necessary these days.
