Add this number to your instant "reject list" and do away with them.  They repeatedly call my number here while i'm at work and never leave a message.  I do not, repeat, do not even have a mortgage as we are renting an apt at this time after going through a separation, soon to be divorce and they have no reason what so ever to be calling me ... Much less repeatedly ... Blocked call and added to reject listing, hopefully this takes care of their you know what now from calling me. God i hate telemarketing calls and people!!!!

Agreed that they buy mortgages from other companies.

They bought my mortgage from Chase and both Chase and SPS try to collect the mortgage before it is due by calling and saying its an attempt to collect a past due debt.  Just a ploy on the part of these institutions to speed up cash flow by collecting the money early.

Chase was sued in a class action suit for doing this and had to pay penalties but they continued to call with out leaving a name but I recognized the number.

Then they sold the mortgage to SPS who also is doing the same thing.  This is why they leave no company information and if you call back you get the SPS automated message system, and if you log into the website you will see that it is paid and on time with no late fee.

They will harass you even when you pay on time, but there is nothing to prove as they do not leave a company name, just the name of some debt collector probably with a cold call list being paid by the call.

Actually, SPS does not buy the mortgages they are in contract with the bank to service your mortgage. Chase, etc.... Still owns the mortgage.  If you go to the mortgage books for your county and SPS is taking your payments you will still see the banks name on that mortgage.

Our house payment is late and they are calling. What do they expect, when they increased our mortgage payment by hundreds of dollars and beyond our means?

They can HAVE this house. We're DONE.

No they only service the loan.  The bank owns your house.

However it is harassment once they know they are being paid off. They are [***] to work with when they know you are refinancing through a different company.

SPS does handle mortgages. We're not behind, but we are working on a refi with them.

I answered and it automatically disconnected.  not really sure why they don't just state their business.  if it is SPS, shame on them for not having a better phone system.  smh

Well they called me at 10 am this morning and my loan is just do today....so i pay my bills they are the worse

They call me every day multiple times a day. It does not show the caller, just "Jacksonville, FL" but I know it is SPS Select Portfolio Servicing. They not only call every day but send me 2-4 pieces of mail every day!

My mortgage is through them it is not late  this number calls me with the same bs as other commenters

Angela Williams called from Select Portfolio Servicing.  Claimed I owed for past mortgage.  Tried to explain it to her, but her brain is the size of a gnat and she couldn't understand.  I didn't owe because I had paid and had proof of payment and receipt.  Still too stupid to understand.  Utah Corporation calling from Florida?  Turns out they are located at 10401 Deerwood Park Blvd  Jacksonville, FL 32256.  Well guess she will be the second defendant in my lawsuit.  I'll just have her served at work.  They tried this before and in 2007 they stipulated an agreement with the FTC not to do this stuff anymore. Guess they forgot?  Maybe by the time this is over I won't have a mortgage anymore?

Got a call from this number, didn't answer since I didn't recognize it.  No message was left.  My mortgage was just sold to SPS.  My next payment isn't due until next week.  Jerks.

You can be sure they are looking for a payment that you don't owe. Those people make gnats look like Einstein.
