I received a call from the State Investingation unit. It's sounds funny since I live in one state and the number is from another state. I returned the call and could not get direct answers. I asked for an address and and any way to prove where Eric Smith was calling from and was told if I gave my phone number it would be removed from the list and the situation would be my problem though we never discussed a problem. Felt more like a threat!

Just had a phone call at work again from John Robinson, these had stopped for a while when I contacted the police dept and the officer actually spoke to, then his name was Officer Mike Johnson, or Mike Taylor or Rox Murphy.  It didn't do any good he calling me again.  You can't trace them they route all the numbers.

I got a call from Jason Miller as well. He said he was from the State Dept as well and told me that my husband and I had an outstanding balance and needed to bring it current unless we wanted to be arrested. He had all my information too.

I work at a physician's office, and this guy, Jason Miller keeps calling me and it comes up on our caller ID as "New York Call".  This is interesting indeed as I don't live in any state near there, I am in the midwest. He says I owe $300, the first question was for the name of my lawyer.  When I responded, some lackey said he would get his supervisor since I knew nothing about it.  Then he puts this "Jason Miller" on the line.  Says he is the lawyer representing US payday advance.  All he can tell me is that the alleged transfer occurred between August and December of 2010. I spoke to my bank just to verify, they suggest I close all accounts.  I don't know how to make him stop this!

yesterday he was Jason Miller, today he is Shawn White, told my work it was a "legal, criminal matter"

Just got a call today 5/19/2011 from 914-373-7033 (Attorneys of Legal Services of New York and said that I was going to be arrested for crimminal charges and I would receive a subpeona on Monday and be officially arrested. I was emotional ignorant and devastated. They told me if I wanted to resolve this by paying them $ 7,893.00.  The charge was that I borrowed money from US Check (payday loan company) and never paid them back.   I investigated and it is a SCAM. Watch out for area code 914 and 904.  I am reported this to the authorities....be careful everyone, especially elderly people.  Do not send money.

Before I realized it was a scam,  I had an asthma attack and called my family to come and help me.

Recorded message from ESG Survey. Saying if I complete the survey I can receive a trip to the Bahamas.

Received a call from 914-373-7134. I didn't answer but was curious as to who it was so I googled the number, and found out it is a scammer. Now it says that it comes from the down-state NY area code of 914 but google also had this page, and it looks like it may be from India. And everyone has said that they have a heavy middle-east accent. Find the number and it will show you a map. Of course this doesn't help any of us being harassed by these people but maybe that is why we can't get it to stop because these calls could come from over seas. Don't forget 95% of the time you call your credit card company you talk to someone with a middle-east accent......

I called it back - it was a recirded message to take a survey about the debt crisis - I hung up.

Just received a call from this number, I did not answer and no message was left.
After reading the post, if they do call back, I am going to answer it as "County Court
House, District Attorney's office" , to see what response I will get from them!

Got a call from this number right after another call from the same number. First call said it was a cellphone in CA, 2nd said it was from New york.. but it was the same number.

They say that we will receive a free vacation if we take their survey.   Yeah right, then they ask you to send money that will be refunded when you show up with luggage in hand or to cover taxes that are not included.   There must be people out there that fall for these scams or they would go away.

some company called efg research group about the national debt crisis.  This will give you a prize if you participate... prize my ass... they will add you to a list and keep calling you about anything and eerything block the number and ignore them.

Caller ID said "Unknown Name" and number was 914-373-7134.  On answering, I got arecorded message saying that it was the ESG Group conducting a survey; all I had to do was answer a 30-second survey regarding the "debt crisis" and in reward I would receive a free 2-day cruise to (somewhere nice, I don't recall exactly where) with only port fees and gratuities to be paid by me.  To particpate I had to press 1.
Too good to be true... I expect they want a credit card payment of the "fees" in advance of the (probably ficticious) cruise.  I hung up on the recorded message and then looked up the number here - and lo and behold, it's a number associated with attempted scams.

Just got call in 503 area code.  Did not answer, no message left.

Got a call from this number not ten minutes ago. Was a survey about the debt crisis. Thirty seconds for two free tickets to the Bahamas. Said New York.

Did the Survey. Got transferred to someone named Kevin Huskey. he claimed to be in Palm Beach, FL. I just had to give him a credit card number to get the two tickets. (Pay a port fee over the phone.)

Got a call from this number saying I won a cruise after I answered a political survey.
Bad news.
