Yep, they call me all the time and never leave a message.  Just received a call from them.  I never answer a number I don't recognize.  If this was a legit company, they would leave a message and/or send you something in the mail.  Sorry Performant, but you are not getting my information.

This is a company that calls and tries to get you on a payment/Catch-up payment plan to pay student loan. Very persistent, non stop!

California, I get the same thing every day and night at least 6 or 7 times per day, I tell them that I am not the person that they are looking for and hang up on them, than about 30 min. later they call back. it dont do any good to put them on the do not call list cause they get throw anyway  and they are being a pain in the back side

You are right, it does not do any good to report them to the DNC.  The reason for that is because the DNC has nothing to do with debt collectors.  They have their on special law.  People that know their rights and what to do know how to properly handle this.

Telling them to stop calling you here is as good as talking to a wall.  They won't see it and even if they did, with that screen name how would they know who you are?  Here is everything you need to know and do.  You can take the advice or put up with the harassment.  Your choice.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt cease and desist calling or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Also happens to me at least 2X per week

I have received numerous calls from Livermore CA they start with the same area code.  I will block the number and then within a few weeks it starts up again from another similar number

They just called my new cell phone. I do not even know the number yet. Enough already.

Called me asked to speak to me and told me they can't talk to me unless they know its me asked me info and for ss# they didn't get it I told the guy he's high if he thinks he's getting my ss#!

Receive these calls on my cell phone and don't know how they got number.  I have no debt/student loans.  No message is left.  Annoying!

I was at a meeting. They called three times to my cell phone that I just got. I did not know how to silence it but these pests kept calling.
