- Caroline replies to WilliamI do this too. One time I just let the idiot go through their entire spiel and then listened to her keep saying 'hello?' for a good minute, before she finally hung up. At other times, I answer the phone as if I'm a business in town. Throws them for a loop and they don't call back. I don't see the need to get angry with these idiots.....just have a good time at their expense! lol

- drillnow| 2 repliesWe are wasting out time posting on this forum!!!!!!!! Nothing will happen just like listing your number on the
Do-Not-Call list, N-O-T-H-I-N-G happens!!! Who knows what their real number is as they are usually calling from a fake number.... I get call for lowering my credit card rates or getting a "FREE" alarm system. I jerked them around once about the alarm system and the wanted to higher a monthly service than the national known companies! That is if the "free' alarm system really would work and if they would install it. I think they are just fishing for your credit card number. I guess they get lucky once in a while and get a sucker!! My view...- Caller: Credit card services

- Tom replies to drillnowEven if posting here does not help alleviate the number of calls the people who do the posting received, I believe the value lies in alerting readers of the posts, to the scams, before they become victims.
- North Carolina ResidentReceived call from this numbet just minutes ago. Did jot answer because it was unfamiliar. Tired of the annoying calls. Something really needs to be done. Its been reported several times with no real outcomes.

- Change DNC To Whistle Blower RewardsIf you decide to play their game, press 1, get a live telemarketer and offer them a reward as a whistle blower if they identify their employer, location etc. Then everyone who is victimized by these scammers: contact your state DNC agency and the federal FTC DNC bureaucrats and tell them the scammers buy their DNC lists on the black market because those lists affirm working numbers. Instead of staffing those DNC agencies that can do little nothing to stop spoof cards from tricking your Caller ID, suggest they start offering whistle blower payments when telemarketers accurately identify their employer and it leads to a conviction/heavy fine/shutdown etc. The only good telemarketer is a silenced and out-of-business telemarketer.

- AnnoyedThese JackWaggons continue to call to lower your interest Rate. Total SCAM and SOB's need to go to JAIL.
So, strung them along, said, I don't have the CC in hand, told them to call by Husband. Gave them the Phone # for the Local FBI. The JackWaggon dialed back using this Phone # 816-718-2974. He was not happy. Really? Call someone who cares!
If you can't beat them, send them on a wild goose chase.- Caller: Consumer Rewards

- RipedOffTaxpayer replies to Sue| 3 repliesIt seems as if when to register your phone number on the FTC No Call list, that the marketers 'buy that information' from the FTC under the pretext of avoiding those numbers. Some how these conn artists and thieves are getting a list of numbers to not call (I suspect from the FTC where else would they get them?).
I have called and complained a lot of times and the FTC will say they are using spoofed numbers and are defenseless. Some time back I saw an article suggesting they would pay for information that would help them track these people.
My advice.
Contact the NSA who can and ARE tracking ALL Phone and Emails around the globe. If they wanted to stop these azz clowns they could but that would be a service to the American People that pay taxes to pay their wages, health care, retirement, etc., costs of building and maintaining their offices.
We al know (or should) the NSA IS unrightfully keeping all phone and net data on file. The NSA is another group of self serving azz clowns We are forced (voluntary assessment of Income Taxes LOL in a pigs eye) to feed . Sure would be nice if they used at least some of their ill gotten gains (pay checks extorted from Citizens) to do something for the Citizens.
It would not be difficult to look into those records they have and see just where 100s and 1000s or calls are being made from on a daily basis. The robo callers dial in sequence. 001-001-0001, then 001-001-0002 ETC. Not many Citizens are doing that. Taking an area code and exchange and starting with 0001 and dialing every number in that exchange until they get to 9999. Then once they have made those 9999 nuance calls, changing to the next exchange 001-002-0001-9999
That it appears would go against the undisclosed and shared between themselves public servants oath, to treat the Citizens that created their nice comfy office, they set in and twiddle their thumbs, while getting paid, as if they were second hand trash. Treat the Citizens worse than the slavers and slave merchants treated their property. - RipedOffTaxpayer replies to Maz| 2 repliesI have sort of a tactic of my own. After fighting these azz clowns for years and knowing that my high paid law enforcement community wont do squat what I do is push 1, or call the number they leave to call back on.
They answer and right away go into their spiel of reducing card rates or mortgage interest. I make like I am interested. Sure I would like my card interest reduced (I don't have a credit card) they ask how much my balance is.
I say well you called me and suggested you 'could reduce my rates' so somewhere on your end you have that information. You know how much I owe and what my rate is or you could not be offering me a discount right? If you don't know how much I owe or how much my interest rate it how can you offer to reduce that rate? I do the same thing with the mortgage clowns.
I figure if more people did this and simply tied up their lines, and pissed away their time as a sort of counter offensive they could not make as many nuisance calls per day, which means their commissions for fraud and theft is less. Eventfully the low brows would starve to death (if we were lucky) or go get a real job (hopefully not in government).
Remember the azz clowns doing this get paid by commission not by hour, and as a rule their IQs are below average. It is not hard to confuse them. - Rpped Off Taxpayer replies to NasreddinYep, 47 USC Sec 227 defines them as Federal felons. Particularly the owners of the facilities they are making the calls from. The suckers being USED by the owners are guilty of crimes as well, but to a lesser extent. We have both Federal Statutes and their implementing regulations, as well as State Statutes and the regulations created under them that have been around for a long time, but in all my years I have never heard of one getting busted.
- DoNotCallMeJust got a call here also. In the Block List they go!

- MSNice try scammer scumbags....now go get a real job like the rest of us.
- KathyThe credit consolidate scammers again. They have a new number so that you can't say you've asked to be put on their do not call list. They do not respect the national do not call list. Best thing turn off your answering device so that it seems like a nonworking number. Or get a phone that allows you to save numbers to block them...like my Panasonic phone.
