My favorite thing to do when a bill collector calls is to pick up the reciever, don't say a word, just lie it down on the table and leave it until they hang up! I also answer the phone sometimes and ask them to wait a moment and put the phone down 'til they hang up. Be sure you know it's a bill collector who's calling though, before you do either of these things!! I also have a whistle that I keep handy in case someone wants to make threats or becomes abusive!

I had the same PROBLEM... "he" won't talk to my husband, so of course my husband thinks "something" is going on (credit card collection call?)... the past few days they called numerous times a day and he's been home sick with the flu...  I called and opted for "do not call" list and he called about an hour later to say he CALLED AGAIN!!! VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!

Here is everything you need to know to stop this company "stonebridge benefit services" from calling you. Contact the following phone number and request to be put on a Do not call/Do not solicit" list. You'll need to verify your name, address, and phone number. check to see if you're already in they're system as you might already have service with them! They work for Jcpenny, this is also known as Stonebridge Life Insurance. They sell crappy Life insurance products. Ad&d, graded benefit whole life, plan plus, credit insurance (never get this!!! IT WON'T PAY!), and they also handle the jcpenny rewards programs, not the free one, the 9.95 one. You buy something from Jcpenny catalog (over phone or internet) and you'll be asked if you want a "$10 mail in rebate with a free 30 day trial offer." The memberships are Savings Solutions, Fun Family Rewards, Perfect Home rewards, savins2go, leisure plus, motor plus, and Plan Plus.

They are owned by JCP, but stonebridge services it and handles all ur money.
They target little old ladies because they are forgetful and sign up for them, forget to look at their transactions, and just pay the 9.95 fee every month because they forgot to cancel their membership before the trial period was over. this is how stonebridge gets ur number and offers you insurance. if you try to cancel your membership, you'll be offered a insurance product, which if you accept but hang up before going to the licensed agent, they'll put u in a call back que. and unless you request for them to stop, THEY'LL KEEP CALLING!!!

When you get your membership, most likely you'll forget. You'll never notice you didn't get your package "or you threw it away, not knowing what it was." And for the idiots who don't check their statements for years, you end up paying alot of money to them. If you are one of these people, here's what you do. The max you can get back is 4 months credit of 39.80 or you can request for the tape to be sent to you, but it'll cost them $175 to pull the tape so they don't want you to do this. Their offer will be "take the 4 months or get no money or just one credit and we can pull the tape to authorize the enrollment of the trial membership. if you authorized it, you won't get anything more back. if you DIDN'T, you'll get ALL your money back." most times they did accept it, but you never know!!! =o) Good Luck and go get em!!!

Please be real careful because I was one of the dumb one's who said yes to one of there $9.95 packets and totally forgot about it. I do online banking and only view my statements every 4 to 6 months until this incident. I called over 9mths ago with the intensions of cancelling and being a single mom and soul provider of my family was talked into giving it another chance. I was enticed with all the savings I would recieve and if I still wasn't satisfied a full refund would be issued so I agreed, "Big Mistake". Got the package put it aside and forgot all about it again until I noticed the $9.95 charge again several months later when viewing my statement, at this point I decided to just cancel no matter what, plus I really didn't loss anything because I was told I would get a full refund if I was not satisfied, "Wrong". So I called to cancel and once again the male on the other end was trying to keep me in the program but this time I stuck to my guns and was told that I would be refunded just $9.95 and I would see the refund within the next 2 to 3 billing statements, at this point I felt lied to and [***] so asked to speak to a manager and the male continued to tell me there was nothing more that could be done for me so instead of requesting to speak to his superior I got so frustrated I hung up. Please if you are smart you will say "no" and hang up as quick as possible don't let them even speak just say "no" it will save you time, money and aggravation.

It's Stonebridge.  I reported this number to Do Not Call officials (both state & federal) TWICE......but they are still calling.

BUY A PANOSONIC PHONE THAT HAS A "CALLER BLOCK" feature to it.  It will ring once then hang up automatically.  I have several numbers blocked like that.  So, if it rings twice I know it's not a blocked call.

945-926-3387 called automated. Return calls give you 800-527-5717. People there claim to be licensed-but will not tell you who licensed them, or what they are licensed to do! Very evasive-it is Stonebridge Life Insurance company. Will not even tell you if they check the Don Not Call List before calling!

I have been receiving calls from this company for several months. Since I have caller ID, I can see this company name. My solution is to pick up the phone and hang it up. You would think someone at the company would get the point. Maybe they will get the point now that I have just closed my account with JC Penny.

The next time they call, I will be picking up the phone and informing them that I have closed my account with JC Penny. We will see how quick they stop calling now.

Shame on JC Penny for harassing their customers like this. I will be making a complaint with the FCC and letting them know that I was forced to close my account to stop the harrassing calls. Good luck all.
