Telemarketer offering Walmart gift card?
- not Michael replies to takeshaClose the account. Do it now. If you don't the scammer will take all of the money out of the account.
You will never get your money back. The scammer probably called from outside the US, outside the reach of US law enforcement. - terrisa replies to xyzi did the same thing. i hung up before they went to far but they asked me 4 times to repeat my credit card number. i called my bank that night and shut off the bank card...It is such a shame they have to steal from people like this
- Jackie| 1 replyWell supposedly they have everyones info cause of filling out a survey or something online. I got 10 phone calls today by this number stating I can get a free gift card but they need my credit card number and verify everything else. BS! Maybe I did fill out something online but theres NO WAY I gave anyone my info especially a credit card (which I dont have!!) This is what someone else said...
just copying an old post and reposting it so you will all have the info again. Score one for us!!! I received yet another call today. I had the agent spell the name of his company, it is Waka Network. I did a search, and found the following website: http://wakanetworkinc.com/aboutus.html On that site's "Contact Us" page, there is an email address and phone number. The email address is info@wakanetworkinc.com, and the phone number is 1-877-237-9772. I called, and the lady I spoke to confirmed that they are the company making the Wal-Mart Gift Card Calls. She advised that she could put us on the do not call list, but it takes up to 72 hours to take effect. I don't believe that for a moment, but we now have a contact number so we can bug them as much as they have been bugging us. Huzzah!!! Caller: Waka Network (UNASSIGNED on Caller ID) - skippy replies to TrishaIve had telemarketers get mad at me for saying " Im not stupid, I will not give a stranger my credit card info"and be yelling at me by the end of the call, I then say is there anything else i can help u with today and have a nice day
- evjldeftone replies to Don boscotext me what to do about that gift card scam please 262 661 9491 i would b very greatful and if there is any money i'll give ya some
- not MichaelIt’s a scam. If you reply they will ask you for a credit card number or bank account number to pay for shipping and handling and insurance. They will spend all of the money in the account. They will never send you a gift card. If you visit the website in the message it will download spyware and viruses and heaven knows what else.
Delete the message. Do not reply to it. Do not visit the website in the message. - LCDamn! I got lured into thinking I'm getting a $150 Target gift card. I ended up blocking my freakin' card so they don't have access to my debit anymore. I'm getting a new card soon. This is my first time and definitely the last! I should've Google-d about their number or information about them before picking up the call. They said they're a multi-million dollar company and that my card information are definitely safe and will not be harmed. But they immediately slashed $3.95 from my debit account when I went to check online. This is making me so furious! I can't believe I was that stupid to give out my information. I sure do hope I get that f@#$%^&*ing gift card that I payed $3.95 for. SCAMMERS. WTF!
- Emily replies to C. AndersonA man with the thick accent called me about a chance to win a Walmart $100 gift card. I don't shop at Walmart and I knew it was a scam from the get-go. I asked 3 times to taken off their call list (I am already on the donotcall.gov list). The third time I said very firmly, "please do not call me again". He said, "Oh, I WILL call you again". I said "Excuse me? Why?" He said, "Because I am very tired and you can go to hell!" Oh yes, that's exactly what he said! I haven't had another call in 3 days, but we shall see. My carrier said I can pay $4.99/mo to have the "Unavailable" numbers blocked. Hope I don't have to. Can't even report his # to gov list.
- Whonoze replies to not Michael1. If you have banned commercial calls thru a do not call num - there is no legal out for a blind call.
2. Google opt-out anyway - you don't have to wait. You will have to be persistent. Phone calls are easy to block compared to mailings, etc.
3. If they will send you an illegal, probably SCAM text message you'll never see the opt-out. Call the fraud dept in your county, city or state and report. There is place to report bad marketing calls, your ISP will want to know phishing attempts - and they should be told of this email and the number and the content and the time. Some of them are serious about blocking or tracking; some don't care. - Kev replies to TrishaThey're fishing, Mam
- Brutali| 11 repliesI was scamed by this Company , given a fake call back number .
