Fake payday loan collection scams - Please list new numbers here [2]
- Sir Bedevere replies to Christopher ManuszewskiThe scenario you propose is *possible*, but given that pay day loans are usually very short term, it is more likely that he paid off the original lender and the people calling now are the scammers.
Of course, it's also theoretically possible that both the people paid off years ago *and* the ones currently calling are scammers. This is why validating debt before paying is important. - DaFox replies to Christopher Manuszewski| 16 repliesIf you really want to prove you are not just another scammer, do post:
Your company's postal and physical address.
Your company's Buffalo, New York debt collector license number.
Whether or not you attempt to collect on Payday Loans. - MJG replies to DaFox| 15 repliesFox, Check out 877-658-2450, pages 2-3 from June 18. This person has listed several comments there - including one that was deleted. I did a search of his company and the first thing that came up was that 800 notes page. MJ

"1130 E Lovejoy St Buffalo, NY 14206"
Strange address.... It doesn't seem to exist.
Unless it's the patio place next to Carbone's Pizzia on the corner of Lovejoy and Benzinger. - ANonieMouse replies to DaFox| 3 repliesGoogle Street View (through www.instantstreetview.com) provides a view of this address at the following sharable link:
http://qsview.com/2ijgf6z1wf71cz2bfzr5z2u
You are correct. There is no 1130 E. Lovejoy St. in Buffalo, NY.
But if you want to go further, you can confirm this at either or both the City of Buffalo's Tax Assessor's website, and/or the Erie County, NY On-Line Real Property Parcel Search.
To search the City of Buffalo's Tax Assessor's website, go to
https://www.ci.buffalo.ny.us/applications/propertyinformation/default.aspx
In the search form, just enter Lovejoy, leaving out the "E" and the suffix "St." and omit the house number and everything else. Make sure the "Street Address" button is checked, and the press "Search." All the assessed properties on Lovejoy come up in that search, the results of which take up 3 pages. The "1130" address would be on the second page, but is missing. You can however, see the property at 1131 Lovejoy, which is owned by the City of Buffalo, itself. If you click on the "View Information" link at the end of the line on which that property appears, you will see that the property description says, "WEST COR BENZINGER," so we know that the Google Street View has us in the right place. If you then click on the link on that page entitled, "View Improvements/Uses," you will see that 1131 Lovejoy is a parking lot. Indeed, that is what you see when you rotate the Google Street View -- a parking lot.
So, we know that 1130 E Lovejoy St. is not on the property assessment list of the City of Buffalo.
To search the Erie County NY real property parcel records, go to
http://www2.erie.gov/ecrpts/index.php?q=real-property-parcel-search
and enter "Lovejoy" in the "Street" field, leaving the "number" field and all other fields blank. Then make sure that "Search All" is selected and press "Submit Query." You will also see here that there is no property listed at 1130 Lovejoy. There is an 1126 Lovejoy and an 1131 Lovejoy. The 1131 Lovejoy property "Details" link takes you to a page showing "331 COM VAC W/IMP" -- a commercial vacant property with improvements. If you then click on the Google Maps link on that page, you will see what the improvements are, because you will land right in the middle of the parking lot at the corner of E. Lovejoy St. and Benzinger. (It is paved.)
By the way, either service will show you that 1126 Lovejoy is the Pizza diner that you referred to. The place next to it nearer Benzinger appears to have street numbers on that street, not Lovejoy.
I think it is reasonable to assume that 1130 E. Lovejoy St., Buffalo, NY is a fake street address unless someone else can prove otherwise. - DaFox replies to ANonieMouse| 2 repliesWhat i found kinda of strange is the pizza place is 112X and the laundry place on the other side of the intersection is 114X, so it is like there is no 113X block. I'm thinking then that anything 113X is city property expanding off your findings.
If there was a 1130 E Lovejoy, it would be on the same side of the road as the pizza and laundry, as they have even lot numbers.
....Oh well, when we go to visit the "collector", we can at least get pizza and clean up afterwards :) - Nimrod replies to MJG| 8 repliesI also Googled them and along with the 800notes entry popping up at the top, I found these two interesting links:
http://paydaytoday888.com/manuszewski-suraf-a ... t-credit-check/
http://loantoday888.com/manuszewski-suraf-ass ... t-credit-check/
Apparently this "legitimate collection agency" also doles out payday loans. - DaFox replies to NimrodVery interesting.... Thanks for the info :)
Sooo, as for "Manuszewski, Suraf, & Associates Llc" .... We shall we say:
BUSTED!! - ANonieMouse replies to DaFoxActually, I was wrong about the structure on the corner of Lovejoy and Benzinger next to the Pizza diner having a Benzinger address. It actually DOES have a Lovejoy address, according to Erie County records -- 1132 Lovejoy to be exact. So 1130 Lovejoy, if it existed at all as a real lot, would be in the alley between that building and the pizza diner.
For those who follow these searches but who may not live on the East Coast, it may be worth remembering that many cities on and near the East Coast do not follow the convention of starting each block on an even hundred street number. Thus, you will find that many streets do not have numbering gaps where they are cut by a cross street. For example, the lot directly across Benzinger from the parking lot at 1131 Lovejoy has a street address of 1133 Lovejoy. It happens to be a City of Buffalo School, according to Erie County records. - final justice| 1 replyThe agency owner from Buffalo.makes some good points. There are valid debts. However, if a debt validation has been sent, and the rhe cutomer answers, then the afency beter have proof. What 90% of the complaints are Mr, collection agency.owner, are the animals out there who claim to be law enforsement or attorneys. Laugh all you want. Some [***] tore my family,up, then tried it with me. One pronlem.. It was regarding my ex wife. So now Mr. Agency owner, my full attention is takimg a.wrecking ball to the industry. So sue your so called debtors,my advice to.them.is to.simply .show up to court and deny the debt.
Was there someone who notarized the customer's signature? Nope. Did you get a scan of the customer's license? Have any original signatures? Charge legal rate of the state? Any FDcPA violations?
I think.we know the answers to these. See once you show to court and deny the debt, the atty hired to sue wants to then be paid by the hour. So, simply hassle the attorney and jack up the fees for the creditor. Keep denying the debt all the way.
That hould about do it. Laugh away. Anyone who deals with these hacks, simplybdile a complaimt with the AG. Go after the original creditor. They will pull the file from the agenxy and dead file the account. Why? Xost to collect it! - jennI got scammed back in Feb should have know that it was one but they used convincing scare tactics. I realized that I got scammed because I just started receiving more calls this week with the same MO. Well I did not fall for it this time and I am now wondering if I can dispute the amount I got scammed out of????
- Sir Bedevere replies to Nimrod| 6 repliesNeither of those links works for me ("Internal Server Error"). Perhaps the crooks read your message and shut them down? Did you get any screen grabs?
- 1-C replies to Sir Bedevere| 1 replySir B,
I just tried the first link ... it appears to be working. I managed to bring it up. Perhaps the sites servers were down for a bit. I'm sure the other link should work now too ;-) - 1-C replies to 1-CCorrection: The first works ... but still get the "Internal Server Error" message on the second. Hmmmm...
- Sir Bedevere replies to Sir Bedevere| 3 repliesNever mind – Google cache had them and I made PDFs of both pages.
