He "hiked into m phone"?  Well I guess the m stands for Motorola?   But if he actually "hiked into" your phone he must be one really small person.

I applied for a job locally and got a text back from a 909 number.  They said congratulations! I got the job. Just send us your name phone# sex address nationality. They already have that on my resume. Plus shouldnt i have an interview of some sort? Dont get it.

It's a scam. As you said, you would have an interview before you were hired and they would already have the information they were asking for.

A scammer.  Don't waste your time; I can't think of too many companies who would hire you by text after no interview.  Smart to catch it, though.  Some people wouldn't.

Not restricted to U.S.  Just got a call from (909) 655-9457 and we live in Ontario Canada.  Scam artists as you say "Here we go again"!

Why would you think it's restricted to the U.S.? Scammers don't care where you live, they just want to scam anyone they can.

How do you know if scam. I’ve been talking to a guy who sent me good looking pics and the went on a project for work, we have been talking for 3 weeks now . Every night and morning. Great conversations but couldn’t FaceTime me and he is a geologist sohe says. Yesterday he asked if I could send him 1500 dollars to help him purchase equipment for work. I went off on him asking if all our talks were just a scam. His no is 909/954/0031.  We still talked even though I said no way on the moneyHe then told me he was flying home which is here in Florida this weekend and hasn’t answered me. I noticed his area code is 909

If that was a question up front, don't you think you've answered it? Male character, conveniently out of reach, and the poor baby can't afford the tools needed for his exotic job which keeps him from meeting in person. Those are classic romance fraud elements. If you still think this clown is your friend, you need a swim buddy to help you debunk fake dating profiles. Meantime, the polite and useful action would be to open up the correct number thread.
