" 909" area code fraud scams / fake calls and texts
- Serpen7 replies to alex| 6 repliesI did.. some kind of collection agency.. i have an investigation on them right now.. ill know what it actually is by January 2nd
- Tygerkat replies to Serpen7| 3 repliesDid you also post your experience under the number that called you? And what entity is doing this "investigation" for you?
- MikeHuntleton replies to Tygerkat| 1 replyOnly one post a year ago today in that 909 thread, so methinks 'Serpen7 ' is a trollbie. Yeah, a Google Search investigator who trolls forums is more like it. The "some kind of collection agency" idea came from that thread too. Guess we will see on Jan 2, since it must take that long for a Trollbie to Google something.
- Tygerkat replies to MikeHuntletonI do like the new term "trollbie". It fits some posters so well.
- BJ909 plus all three of my phone numbers in 907 area code. No answer on first number. Noticed the other two numbers were called as well, just ignored them
- Nick909 number wants my e mail or g mail.. This was a person I met on a dating site that gave me her number to tex her....BELIEVE THAT. .
- GregAtTheBeach replies to Serpen7| 1 replyWell, it's January 2nd. What have you got from your "investigation", Serpen7?
<barely suppressed snicker> - Kat replies to GregAtTheBeachAw, don't bother suppressing your snicker. :-D

- Titwillow| 7 repliesDoes anyone recognize 909-580-9558
- Resident47 replies to Titwillow| 1 replyI won't say for certain, but it resembles a phone number.
Luckily we have these things here known as phone number threads. The one you want is empty. It will remain empty until someone places a report there. That's rather how 800Notes works. The users are the contributors. That means you, too.
We're trying to discourage misusing a forum thread like this as a pin cushion for every possible number within a given area code. It makes a total mess after a while and becomes much harder to connect reports which belong together.

So does the one for a number Titwillow wanted us all to know about over six weeks ago: https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-909-580-9558
So does the one for a number Jenn submitted in November: https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-909-347-7529
This is the real problem with "add this to the list" threads, apart from the fact that there is no blasted "list" and no action taken: None of you who make these inane posts understand the current trend among fraud shops, using a number for a single blast and tossing it away quickly. You're ignoring the structure of this website, which catalogs comments by phone number FOR YOU already if you let it. You are not building any "list" which is meaningful or permanent to anyone interested in call blocker lists. You fail to identify any business name or call purpose, details which do add value to this site and help identify patterns which lead us to fingering the sources of junk calls. We cannot keep chasing symptoms; we must destroy the causes. - Cindy replies to Patti| 1 replySounds like I met the same guy. It's now March 2018, and the other day I called him out on his BS. He gave me the same story he gave you, however, he didn't ask for the money. He was leading up to the question, but I called him out before he could ask. From the get go, something wasn't right about him, but could not figure out what it was. Sob story after sob story. He is definitely a scammer and still using phone number 909-954-0031. I believe he lives in Sweden (we spoke on the phone). Claims he lives in Florida, but doubt it. I did contact administration of the dating site where I met him. I reported him and the site promptly removed his profile. Sorry this happened to you ... Just be lucky you didn't give him the money. He is not an American and most certainly a scammer.
