NO genuine company will ever charge you money in advance. The person at the other end will have hindi asian accent. they get angry easily and will cuss you if you pretend not to hear them or understand them and tell them to repeat. if its a genuine company the person whose calling you will never  cuss you and will always be polite no matter what you say. and try to call the number from which this agent call you, coz you will not be able to call back most scam company from which they dial. and they will use funny or obvious [***] loan id number. for example if the agent name is Matthew then the id number will be like m1000 or random number but will start with the same alphabet as his first letter of his name. more example..john (j1000), mary (m1000) and so on.
and they will use funny script but cut off and ask lots of question like where your located. whose the governor of the region or just question them with tricky question, they will just hang up on you. threaten them to stay on the line for sometime while your tracking there number. or just slang them with this words "Tera ma randi= ur moms a [***]" they will be so pissed!!  am sorry bout this guys... am from delhi and i know this stuff.... and i want to help you guys in anyway i can. i hate scam companies. am just a college student but during my holidays my fav past time is finding this scam companies and there location and report to the police but this damn police are either too corrupt or just not interested! i hope the authority here take this things more seriously. am doing more research on this effin companies! stay tune for more updates! il try my best in whatever i can do from my side! -L

    I'll bet you're pretty!  I know you're naive.

Third party collections routinely involve charging money, boosting the amount of the debt illegally, routinely hire people who happen to have hindi accents even though they are American corporations operating here in the US, routinely get angry easy because, in the words of one ex collector, "Nice doesn't shake money out of the victim," as a matter-of-fact use profanity because, as I quoted one ex collector above, "nice doesn't shake money out of the victim," and on and on.

The only difference between US born and bred 3rd party collections and over seas shake down payday loan scams is that the ones here are subject to US law.

Third party collections is third party collections.

Yeah, the information about scam companies is out there but nobody cares to look this stuff up. Like take Intelius. People still are using their services but if they read about the company's founder, whose name is Naveen Jain, they would find this page:
    http://seattletimes.com/news/business/infospace/
Those who read that page will never invest into Itelius, but who will? People don't know how to Google stuff.

The FBI is a US law enforcement organization.  They do not have arrest powers in India or any other place outside the US.  Those people need to be arrested by the police in India.  And that won't happen because no one in India is being hurt by the scammers.

There are all sorts of scam going on in that country, and the cops there aren't doing much to stop them. Until they tighten their laws regarding fraud, this crap will continue.

If you've made the mistake of accepting a payday loan, there is still some hope for you.

#1 - Check to see if the company is licensed/register with the State in which you live.  If they arent - which is almost always the case - they are operating illegally and you dont owe them a dime.

#2 - Unfortunately - because it's a PITA, you'll have to close your checking account and/or cancel your debit card so they cant steal any more from you.  You might also want to change your phone numbers if they continue to call you.  Reporting them to various agencies is a noble pursuit, but it's unlikely to get the scumbags off of your back.

#3 - You may want to pay them back the amount you originally borrowed from them, but that's up to you.  Many states have "usury" laws regulating the amount of interest that can be charged on a loan by legitimate lenders.  Many of these scammers are owned by American Indian tribes (as are many casinos), so they are not necessarily regulated by State or Federal lending laws.

I was scammed for 315 dollars by the same people stating I was approved for A 1500 dollar loan but had to pay first months payment up front because of my credit. Went to walgreens and got a green dot money card for 165 called Kevin Williams with the # and he the funds would be in my bank account by 6pm. Funds were never there. Called him backed said he was backed up because of holiday will not be in account until the day after christmas morning. Called him again that morning and he told me that the fcc said I had to pay the taxes on it so went to walgreens got another green dot card and even had to fax the receipt this time. As of today money still not in account watch out people.

I was called today by a scam company as well. Telling me that if I don't pay the loan I will be served with papers. They told me that I need to pay a fee of 170 to stop the process of going to court. I went on telling them that I don't have the money today. She then took the price down to a 100 dollars and I told her I wasnt going to be able to pay anything until the end of the month. So I started asking them their contact information, and once she told me they had a p.o. box i knew then it was a scam. I told her that I dont have credit cards or anything so could they receive money orders? She said no but you can get a prepaid debit card and call back with the card info. I told her ok but I knew I wasnt calling back!!!! I got scamed once before but never again. Thank god for the report people post on the internet about these companys. Their information that was given is P.O. Box 658 East Haven, Wisconsin 06512 phone #: 855-278-1596

I keep getting calls from a private number or a "0". Really?  It's the same people with the accent. They just don't stop. I downloaded a call blocking app, so when they call, it automatically hangs up. Problem with that is, private numbers can't be blocked. F%@& you Alex Jordan! Or whoever you are!!!!

If it involves a Green Dot Money Pack it's a scam. Guaranteed. They only want you to use one of those because they're untraceable and un-refundable. No one is going to just give you $2000 in return for $230 — he's just going to take your money and disappear.
