I started getting these calls about 3 days ago.  All you have to do is ask yourself why anyone would not want you t"o know who they are, or where they are calling from, in any answer, it would mean the calls has to be disguised for you to answer, or they are up to no good.  Best thing is block if you can, or just don't answer.  I never answer "unknown" or a number I don't know.  If they leave a msg., you can call back, if not...someone that knows you don't want the call.  So just don't answer.  Some idiots must answer or they wouldn't keep using these tactics.

P.S., if they don't answer, it was an automatic dial, and there was no operator free to talk. Dialing is done by a machine, and the machine continues to dial and the operators just pick up lines as they become free.  They have no idea who is on the phone, you are just an automatic dial in a random mechanism dialing machines.

I just had a call saying that they were from a company called sandling and they had a free $500 gift card from wal mart for me because i bought something from thier company last week, they had my first, last name and my address and they tried 2 get me 2 give them my credit card number and i didnt do it so be careful and watch out like someone else said just dont answer the call if you get one from that number.

And the police in Oregon would call from a 000-000-0000 number.

This number is a ring of hackers and identity theives and rouge government employed hackers illegally tapping the phone. The network is angel used by the dept of edu and candian gov. Spy program. I've a victim of these cyberstalkers from edu since 2001 and fbi since 2004. They just changed the networks operating system and put the network in stealth mode with hidden spyware files and clone internal devices that boot the victims system from a remote location anywhere in the world.

Got this call 15 times before answering.  Stated they were from a payday loan company.  TOld them I did not apply for a loan and they could either take my name off the list, or I would call them everyday repeatedly as they have called me and breathe in the phone.

had a call from this number around 9am today April 9th , heard nothing

Political callers & the NRA use this number. Usually soliciting donations. If you are not an NRA member it is probably a political campaign this year anyway. As the other poster stated any one can spoof this number so who knows what knuckle head it might be?
If you have a smart phone (iphone,android etc) you can download an app called "True Caller". It's FREE & you can block numbers to your cell phone. This 000 number may not block but I use this app & it works well with other numbers I know. Hopefully it will work for you on this number as well.

I have been getting calls from this number where I work and it is from John Thomas (stockbroker) and they always ask for the owner of the company like they are good buddies.  All they are doing is trying to have him buy stocks.  Told them to take his name and number off the list so we will see if they do.

Just got one always love these phishing calls. Name on the phone says V4101939360001 from 1-000-000-0000.  Trying to validate information to save me money on my natural gas provider.  (which of course they didint even know the provider is) Since we live on Long island and are hammered by monopolies of electric and gas providers there is no way and hell you would actually get a discount on ur service.  Very insistent on trying to have me get my bill to validate what they have on record.  New my address, but i guess you can reverse look up the numbers they are calling.  Sounded Filippina

got a call from this number, didn't answer it.   a little earlier, got a call from 801-823-2020, didn't answer that either.  will be contacting the FCC and FBI, and do not call registry online.  whatever you do, just send it to VM, and don't answer it.

You are wrong, I work closely with a local Police Department as well as FBI, they use a series of 0's when they call, at least the investigation department does, and then the FBI also uses 000-000-0000 at least in my region when they call from certain phones.
