- ShelleyJust received a call from this number. Recording told me my debit card had been suspended. And to press another number to correct the situation. I hung up....
- Sally IveyI have had 2 calls today from 0000000000. No way am I answering it.
- Sally Ivey| 1 replyThey just called again. That makes 3 times today. I will not answer them. How do you make them stop?
- sally replies to Jimmy RusselsLet me know if one is going because I have already had 3 today. I have an invalid husband and that is enough to deal with.
- Artie replies to WillI received a call from 000-000-0000. It was a foreigner on the other end. He said: I'm calling you because your computer is not working. If you turn your computer on, I can fix it for you". I told him there was nothing wrong with my computer and that I knew it was a scam and for him to leave me alone!! He didn't say another word and I hung up.
- Artie replies to Knows the ScoreI totally agree. I answered this call out of curiosity. They told me they were calling me because my computer was not working and if I would turn it on, they could fix it for me. I told him there was nothing wrong with my computer that I knew this was a scam and he didn't say another word. We both hung up the phone.
- Artie replies to Stan| 6 repliesStan, that could mean only ONE thing. Your phone company sold your phone number!!!!!
- dru replies to KimI received. this. call. today. and have. no idea
- Rallybrothers4:22am I got as call from unknown 0000000000 or all zeros. I'm my sleeping stupor I answered it. And the conversation says it was 23 seconds long. On the line was some female bot and all I remember hearing was "press one to be transferred to your security department now" and then the call ended.
My guess is I caught the end of the recording and it is probably the same as most of the others here about some sort of credit card message. But it's probably a company finding valid numbers to add to a telemarketer list. Yay me more phone calls to waste me life.- Caller: Verizon
- tbolt replies to Jimmy RusselsJimmy Russels, Why don't you start the class-action lawsuit by contacting the lawyers. I'm sure others would follow you.
- BobbyAn automated message claiming to be "NET" and informing me that my account has been locked. It said press "1" to continue, but I hung up.
- Caller: NET?
- Double DribbleJules, is that your call on my display?
2 calls in less than one minute from the same number.
Oh wait a minute. Never mind, it was just the confirmation call back for the DiGiorno pizza delivery. :cough: I can not has free pizza today. :cough:- Caller: 7:23 Caller
- EASBGIven that 000-000-0000 is not a valid number, I've always assumed that when this number called, it is simply a fake number, and you cannot assume that it is the same entity calling each time this number pops up. But, I was away this weekend and I had 7 voice mail messages, all hang-ups, from 000-000-0000. And then this morning, at 8:23 am I received another call from them, which also left a hang-up voice mail. The close proximity of these calls makes me think it is the same scam, but I have no idea what they are trying to do.
The Do Not Call list doesn't help much -- legitimate companies, such as surveys, charities, and anyone with whom you already do business are still allowed to call, and the scammers don't care about the law (especially if they're using a spoofed caller ID, like 000-000-0000).
It is SOOOO irritating, because I work from home, and I could get a legitimate call on my phone line. But sometimes I get a dozen a day from these scammers and people wanting me to give them money. Any legitimate company will leave a message. - Sam replies to BrutusNot to mention messing up your hearing as well. Hope you are wearing ear plugs before you blow the whistle.
- BC| 1 replyI got a call from this number today but I didn't answer. There was a message in my voicemail. It was an automated message that said, "Homework is due tomorrow morning in first period". And that's it. I let my high school daughter hear it, and she said that she did in fact have homework due in first period. Still, very strange.
- tricia replies to KimI have Verizon and started getting them today. 3 today.
- missignoranceisbliss replies to Kim| 1 replyIts common knowledge that the Government monitors ALL of Verizon's calls, not just the Business calls like they say. It was started during the Bush administration and was supposed to have stopped but....nosey [***]!
- missignoranceisbliss replies to PattiI have found the best way to deal with this problem so far is to report it to the FTC. Federal Trade Commission, check out the website.
- missignoranceisbliss replies to my nameTRY THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION WEB SITE.
