This is most likely the government grant scam.  They called my cell while I was at work last night and the lady said they were with the us treasury and I had been selected to receive an 8400.00 grant.  She didn't know I had already had this call when a scammer who at least wasn't a [***] a put their number up there for me to see.  So I stopped her dead In hear tracks and said holy [***]!!! I won a grant???? But I'm sure you want me to send you some money for something or another that wasn't covered right?  She hung up...

I got a live guy on the phone with this number, he asked specifically for our CEO and when I told him he was unavailable he kept asking for his cell number (red flag #1).  He wouldn't answer any of my questions all he said was he was Mohammad from National, I don't know why but that was a red flag again, I mean he had an east coast white guy voice. (Not being racist but you can sometimes tell a persons race by the sound of their voice even if they speak perfect english).  I guess my thoughts on the guys appearance is cheesy little weasel, gelled back comb-over with a cheap sweater vest working in a boiler room. Just everything about our phone call made me think scum... they all usually are though when it comes to 000-000-0000 "Unknown Caller"

I just got a call from the 000000 number from a guy with a foreign accent stating he was with the Government and was to receive a federal grant in the amount of $7,900, but he also knew my name. What is going on.
Last week I received a call from a blocked number, it was a recording but it said it was the FBI and they wanted to give me a free alarm for my house. Have been getting lots of calls lately. Grrrr. Should we be worried that they have our number and name???

Can't go to court against them because they are located in India.  US government' can't do anything and the Indian government doesn't do much.

Call blocker is your best bet.

You can't stop them from initiating calls since they are located in India.

Call blocker is your best bet.

Also, don't answer calls you don't recognize.   Never answer calls like that one.
