    Annoyed replies to Laura
Laura, the gov't is there for you, you just have to know what steps to take. Go to FCC's website and lodge a complaint - it's that simple! They will investigate it, trust me. I have reported those pesky companies that violate their guidelines. (FYI - they require an OPT-out number on advertising faxes; most legit companies include a toll-free number at the bottom, but a lot of scammers don't follow the rules, and the FCC will go after them because of it! The same applies for telemarketers, etc., on the phone, internet...)

    annoyed replies to report correction
People, you have to realize, as many of us have already done so, that putting your number on the DNC (do not call list/registry) is NOT going to stop/prevent these calls!! My feeling (from what I am reading), is that the calls are political in nature, and therefore do NOT fall under the DNC guidelines. I recently was receiving harassing calls from another number with a Washington, DC phone exchange. When I finally did answer to find out who it was (as I don't normally answer unknown/restricted calls on my cell), I told them in no uncertain terms to STOP CALLING, to remove me NOW!!!  (and YES, the calls did STOP!). I checked, and others had been receiving calls from that same cell #. And now, for days and days, this 000# keeps popping up. Undoubtedly from the same organization!!! My advice, report it to the FCC!

I get the call of 000-000-0000 nearly every day, sometimes more than once.   I do not answer, but it is annoying!  This has been going on for several weeks.

I have received several calls from this number. I never pick it up. Caller ID says "name not found." I tried reporting the number to the "do not call" registry but the automated form will not accept all the zeros.

I got that number on my caller id too and no I don't have any movies from Blockbuster. I'm getting so sick of all those calls. You put your phone number on any website the whole world ends up with it, i don't know why I even pay for not having my number in the phone book??? i only pick up the phone if I know the number, I might just change the number and put a virgin mobile number on any application. It is faster to just change that then have to call everybody and tell them that your home phone number is changed.

I got a call from that number on my old Bell phone.  When I answered it there was a ship's horn and a recorded message about winning a trip.  I hung up.

I get a call from this number every day. It cannot be blocked by standard call blocker service from the phone company. So what do I do?

There is a software package called Call Soft Pro that we use to zap unwanted calls.  The message can be customized, including the zap tones.

We just received a phone call from the all zeros number a few minutes ago. We always let the answering machine take the call from numbers we don't know. They didn't leave a message.

We've gotten calls from this number before. One time it was GEICO leaving a message and the other times it was a computerized message from a bill collector. Phone calls from this number should not be allowed. It could be anyone and that's scary!

I don't think any reputable company should use that type of number to follow up on customer calls 000-000-0000 it just doesn't seem right. I believe it can be a host of people or organizations. From conmen to bill collectors. For instance if your behind on your car payment it can be a way for the finance company to locate your position and reposess their property, or it can be a scam artist hoping to get some unsuspecting victum to con out of money. Seeing as how most of the calls that come from this type of number are ones you don't want to take i suggest you BLOCK IT! BLOCK IT! BLOCK IT! I sure did!
