The guy told me I won 9,000 that the government was giving me because of a poll I apparently took on line - which I never did - told me to call a number to get my money I asked what was the number and he hung up - lol I thought I'd play along - guess he didn't like that

I just wonder how many people may fall for this.  They offered me $9000 from the Federal Government, to use in any form I wanted to, did not make sense...I just told her you should not scam people...you are going to hell.

I continuously get a phone call at least 3 times a day from this phone number it's almost like this guy is obsessed with me as if he knows me personally and it keeps telling me I either one money or I owe money or that he's in love with me and he wants to meet me this is insane I just finally had to put the phone number on block and the dude still calls me in saying I just finally had to put the phone number on block and the dude still called me is there anything that I can do as far as getting the police involved?

Call blocker might be of some help.  Also don't pick up on numbers you do not recognize, or where there are caller IDs that seem odd.  Or where there is no caller ID.  There’s  no way to stop the calls from being initiated.

Callers are most likely located in India or Pakistan.  As such they are outside the reach of US law. Male scam callers from this region often become sexually abusive to women when they find their scams are not working.

I just hold my phone away from my mouth and and tell the fictitious police officer to:
"Start the trace now, it's them again."
    or, answer the phone with:
"This is sergeant 'zzzzzz', what is your emergency?"

If they call on to land line, the best way to slow these calls:
    1. Get an answering machine for your phone line.
    2. Go to:    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_information_tones
    3. Scroll down to the big chart.
    4. Pick a SIT (Special Information Tones), I use "Intercept," it tells computerized telephone dialers this number has been disconnected.  You can play these tones over your computer.
5 When you record your out going message (OGM), record the tone at the beginning of your OGM.
Now any call from a computer (a Robo-Call) should think your number has been disconnected and take your number off of their list.  This may confuse your friends for a while, but mine have gotten use to it.

This only works on Robo calls, when they are using a computer to do the dialing.

This works until they "spoof" another caller ID phone number.
