It is a scam.  They will tell you they have an 8,500 grant money for you and you can do anything you want with it, but first you have to send them $269 before you can get the check.  What idiot would do that??  It is obvious if you have to pay for something that they claim is free, it is a scam.  They continue to call me even though I won't have anything to do with it.  Good luck.

I have recieved several calls from the same imposter, seeking to give me a grant of 9K. I keep blocking the number on my celI, yet it continues. I don't understand why this possible. Does this reporting even help, or is this perpetuating the fraud?
I will continue to not answer unknown phone numbers, but it is difficult!

I would talk to your local police department and phone company. They should be able to help. At the very least the phone company could block the number and you could change your phone number. Maybe ask you're bank to close you're account and start a new one. Just explain the situation. With these things it's better to be o overly cautious. I can't afford to lost anything personally! Got a family to take care of

They have called multiple times. They say they are from the government and I qualify for a grant until this last call where a man solicited me for sex and threatened to come to my home. I usually just keep asking questions until they hang up on me but now I'm livid and just want to physically find them.

A man with an awful British accent and tons of fake background noise called claiming that the US government owes me $9.000.00 to do what ever I want to do with it. He was very impatient ...When I told him I wasn't giving him my bank acct or credit card number to wire the money via western union, he hung up!!! I already knew it was a scam because they have been sending emails as well plus the 000 prefix

Said I got a grant from the government for $9000. She asked my and zip code. Gave her the wrong info. Then she asked me to call another number to talk to her supervisor. The number: 202-697-9400. This is totally a scam.

Ok, i called the number above and provided the confirmation id she provided me before. A guy named Nelson picked up the phone. He asked me to first deposit $200 to receive the grant, but that $200 will be returned later. It can be done through credit card, checking or savings account, money gram, or western union. Don't fall for this scam......

Obvious call center call with LOTS of background noise. Has called multiple times, I finally answered. Caller informed me that I was recipient of $9000 government grant. I had already received similar call from a different number two weeks ago (same information only I was getting a $15K government grant). I explained that I am on the NO CALL LIST and also that they keep calling me and need to stop and that I have reported this to my local authorities. The line went dead.
