I almost got taken advantage of also. I sent the money to Western Union and luckily did the next day because I decided to google after the fact to find this website. I reported it to Western Union and was able to stop the transaction. Be careful and I'm starting ot believe that Craigslist is dangerous. I'm contacting the Police next to report the fraudalent activity.

Unfortunately, I was one that got scammed on this ad for 2 bed 2bth $150 a night.  I lost $300 and drove to the place to find the house already being rented.  I've been renting homes for years and never had a problem.   Well, this one got me good.   Don't fall for this person:

Sending money via Western Union to:  LAWRENCE SCHOLLENBERGER, Allentown PA
    Email was:  louislove188@gmail.com

He cuts and pastes ads from a house that is for sale or for rent.  He fakes the leases as well.  The phone # they use is:  206-339-0186

We had no more news after our last e-mail and the ad had been suddenly removed on Craigslist. So I went online and I finally found this page !!!!
Just in time to call WESTERN UNION and cancel the transfer. What a bad first experience with Western Union.....damn it!!!

    THANKS A LOT

Same thing by in San Francisco.
The person used the name Monique Corridori with the mail corrimoni5950@gmail.com.
    The title was:
"$100 / 2br - Ideal Summer Rental, For Short and Long Term (castro / upper market)"
and on the rental agreement the owners name was Lawrence Schollenberger as mentioned above.
The address in question was 98 Levant Street San Francisco, CA 94114.

PS. Note that both Lawrence Schollenberger and Monique Corridori are apparently names of real persons, but they have no relation as such to San Francisco. This is how I initially got the suspicion that this was a scam. Thus I don't recommend harassing peoples facebook page as suggested above by Julia. Surely Briliant Sparman is a real person but most likely she is not involved in these scams.

Me too!  Watch out on Craigs List for a David Crawford:  davidrents54@gmail.com offering an amazing deal for a vacation rental in San Francicso (and all over USA) and also Fred Parry. Always felt it was too good to be true, but alarm bells really started ringing when asking for money through Western Union.  Thanks all!

    Scammed and pissed
Do NOT send any info to this person.  I was scammed last week and now he is using my info/id to pose as a real estate agent.   He's got this down to a science.

If anyone asks you to wire money via Western Union to Lawrence Schollenberger in Allentown, PA - this is a BIG SCAM.

Save yourself the money and headache.

I am so glad I goggled the name of the owner.  Apparently it is differnet names.  This time it was davidrents54@gmail.com.  I received the same exact message for a Chicago rental at 57 E. Cedar St Chicago, iL.  I had a funny sense about the scam and googled the name.  My funny feeling came with the fact that I am an avid traveler and there is no sales tax and all rentals and hotels charge a tax rate on top of the quoted rate.  Plus there is a name(Davidrents/david crawford) of a person and not of a business.  The funny thing is that I questioned the fact that the rental was advertised for $100 but in a response email it went up to $120.00/night.  I was requested to give credit card information(apparently they have caught on to western union reportings.  For those of you that may not know Western Unions is generally not traceable, so unless you personally know the person or busines is legit, do not send anything here or ebay or anywhere.  It seemed to be a haste in getting credit card information in exchange for a rental agreement. He/she even offered to pick me and my family up for free from the train station. Due to my suspicion I did not give any information and will not be!!!!
Thanks for honest viewings. You saved me and my family $400-600 dollars worth of scam and a disappointing vacation.
