I got this same call wanting to lower my credit card interest rate, and to press 1 for a rep.  Call was made to my cell phone and I am also on do not call list.  Tired of crooks trying to steal my info!

I have been called several times and I believe this is the second phone number they have spoofed for my caller ID.  I did press the button to speak with a rep once and he was polite.  I told him I pay my credit cards off every month and thus have no need for a "reduced interest rate."  He was still polite and told me that I would be removed from the list.  Just got another call from this number today.  My cell phone has a "blacklist" feature that provides the caller with a busy signal.  I wish these people would be called on the carpet for this garbage, but blacklisting is about all I can do at this time.

    How to deal
Here is the scam. These people want you to turn over your debt to them at an attractive interest rate of 4.9% apr. The rate is not guaranteed and is a variable introductory rate meaning that they can raise the rate at anytime with little to no warning to you.

How to deal: Absorb their time. Take the call if you're not busy. Remember their time is costing them money. Ask a million questions. Talk in circles. Give false information that doesn't match up to your personal info. Ask to speak to a superior. Ask to speak to an inferior.

If you really want to "get them back" the game is to waste as much of their time as possible.
    Good luck!

    Remember, never agree to anything!

Stupid people, they still think you are going to give them you credit card information. #*?^^ I stil have not had "brain surgery". I don't answer any calls I don't recognize, if I have the slightest doubt I just reject the call and check at this places (THANK YOU for having them)...and after reading here I add them to my Reject List. Period.

    Tired of these calls
I received a phone call from (216) 744-2009 this evening. It was a recorded message about lowering the interest rate on my credit cards.  I don't have any credit cards.  THIS IS DEFINITELY SCAM ... to find out who was calling me and to have my number removed from their list, I responded by pressing 1.  A man answered and asked if I was interested in lowering my credit card rate.  I told him "no", I simply wanted my number removed.   He said they only get incoming calls and have nothing to do with the phone calls ... and that I simply should not have responded to the recorded message if I was not interested.  He then hung up on me.  So much for being on the DO NOT CALL list.

They hang up because by answering, you have confirmed that your number is legitimate and active. Therefore, they can now sell your number to telemarketers for 3x the usual amount because it has been confirmed. We have no hope to protect ourselves from these wolves.

Got a call today on cell.  Didn't answer, and have now saved the number as "Scam Credit Card Ohio."  I have a few scam numbers saved now, so when they call, I'll know for sure not to answer; with my old Razr phone, I could assign total silence as these #s' ringtones, so I wouldn't even have to be bothered by their attempts (learned that idea here at 800notes.com).  Wish I could o that w. my current phone.

Go to https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2 and register a complaint for this number. It's the only way to get an agency involved that I know of.

I just got one too, but Mr. Number blocked it (again).  You'd think they could at least respect the 'do not call' list.

I too missed the call. I checked your website first, then returned the call.  Same message as bill shut and halfhuman.  "mailbox belonging to Craig is full and can't accept any more messages."
