called while not home, same  caller id, no message, called on SUNDAY night at about 7:30 PM local time

I have a home office with a business number. I only work until about 5pm and they have called every night, they do not leave a message. I lock my office at 5pm everyday due to the confidencial records I work with, it is very annoying to hear the phone ringing after hours. I have even turned the ringer off but then forgot to turn it on in the morning and ended up missing important calls. If anyone comes up with a way to stop them please post it here.

many calls a week for several weeks, they leave no message and i don't answer the phone.

Told them to please do not call and what do they try 2 months later? They call me again.  :(

Called me @ 6:50-7:00 pm PST. Why call me. People like this should find a better hobby. Like call you mom or your dad and tell them that you bug the hell out of people that just got home from work in a 1 hr traffic jammed commute. Nice going moron. Take your survey and shove it up your ass!

These guys call and hang up all the time.  Or leave the "we'll call back" message.  I finally picked up the phone and said "STOP IT, and they started *arguing* with me that they were the government and I had to do their survey.  They said they neither have, nor support any do not call list, so I wrote them and they said they would stop calling, but they just keep going.

It's my phone, I've told them to stop, they said they would, but they just keep going.  How stupid do you have to be to keep calling people who *refuse* to talk to you?  This is harassment.

Called on a Saturday afternoon. Health survey from UCLA. Survey was quite long and seemed legit, but they did ask for some personally identifying info, such as birth date and address. I hesitated to give this to them, but looking up Westat (thanks to this page!), they seemed ok. Also, the study at UCLA is for real.

A guy started saying he was from "The US Government" and wanted me to take a survey. When I asked WHERE in the US Goverment, he answered "The Department of Defense".

I asked him two or three times not to call again, he was quite persistent. Finally I put the reciever on the table and turned up the TV. In awhile I checked and he was gone.

Received a phone call and was not home at the time.  The call instead of ending because of no person to person connection started playing music which continued until the remaining time on answering machine ran out.  Therefore I could not receive and further messages from personal callers.

This number frequently calls me and no one ever answers. I would like it to stop

call so many times im sick  of it..why dont we jsut all call them and do the same thing to them,....

If it truly is westat--then
301-251-1500  is the westat corporate phone number if we all called and told them to shove it up their collectoive [***].......well they might get a hint  of coruse that means a fe dollars...except from my cell phone..where i have unlimited minutes...so......why not waste ten or fifteen tying up their damn lines...

Multiple calls per day

Repeated calls. I tell them repeatedly to put me on their Do Not Call List. The last one told me they don't have a Do Not Call List. Won't get off the phone when I tell them to stop calling. Forceful, pushy & won't leave me alone. My number is unlisted. It is also on the federal Do Not Call list. This is an outrage. Can't someone shut them down or force them to have a Do Not Call list or scrub their list like other companies have to. This is where the government should be doing something - spend our tax dollars wisely & to force them to comply with the laws.

Westat is legit (i work for them) and they do social science research, things like the Minnesota Physical activity study and other government and non profit studies. They have been around a long time and are very well respected. I only know it is them because I just got called on my cell phone by them and did not recognize the # so I googled it and found this, then called the # and it was Westat. This number keeps showing up on my telephone screen with continuous on a daily basis several times during the week including Sundays.  I refuse to answer the phone when I see this number.

These guys claim to be doing a tobacco survey.  We do not smoke...
When we requested to have our number removed.  The caller said she could not remove the number, because the system they use is automatic dialing....
I thought that in itself was illegal....We have turned the 240-453-2908and the 240-314-2400 numbers in to the DO Not Call Registry.  Have been receiving calls every day for almost two weeks.  Sometimes at 9:oo-10:00pm.
I do not believe it is a goverment survey.   How can you make the calls stop?   I have to leave my phone off the hook 24-7 now.....

This number calls just about every other day. They don't leave a message. I have seen so many bad reports from this number via internet.  How do we get them to stop????

They called tonight- twice....  The first time, no one on the phone, second time, wanted to do a health survey.  Told her 3 times I did not want to do a survey, then she kept giving me information about a website, etc.  I finally had to get ugly and tell her I was not doing a survey and not to call back....  Oh, well, I'm sure she just hung up her phone and set it to call me again.....  Thank God to caller ID!!!!!!!

I screen calls and plugged in this number as it was ringing.  Saw that it was a problem number, so didn't answer.  Just reporting this to tell people that the number is active as of Apr 19, 2008, and they're trolling in Arizona.

Got this call 'bout 7:15 Mountain time. Claimed to be doing a survey for the DOT.  I was kinda suspicious when they started asking me for my personel info. They managed to get me to give them my age gender and first name. They asked for my last name to mail me a survey to fill out and when i refused to give it to them they seemed fine with that.  I want to feel that this was a legitimate survey, but who knows anymore.
