Asked for a member of my family by name.
This member of my family had been involved with a Utah State childrens study 6 months ago.

Keep getting calls from these people...and they just hang up, when my answering machine kicks in!  i am on the DO NOT CALL list.

Have gotten several calls from Westat Inc but only answered the phone last night. They claim to be doing a "scientific" health study and want me/us to answer personal questions. (She made a big deal about how scientific the survey is.) This makes me uncomfortable because it seems that everybody is collecting data on us these days. My grocery store knows more about me than my mother! The caller suggested I look at both these web sites: chis.ucla.edu, & californiahealthsurvey.org. So far I have not taken the time nor am I inclined to give personal information over the phone to strangers.

this number calls me at weird times morning and eve and don't leave a number. I am glad that I have caller id and never pick up. I am glad that there is some history on this. They are annoying and i wish they'd stop as well.

I have been receiving  calls from this company a few times a day and several times per week. I don't owe anyone any money and would like them to stop calling me.

I have answered the phone when this company called 7 times now!!! Each time, they've said they were calling from UCLA about a health survey - each time, I've told them I'm not interested in doing their survey and to take my name and number off their list.  Meanwhile, when I check my phone for missed calls, I've seen at least 15 times where they've called during the day while I'm at work.  Today they called again and I exploded and demanded to speak to a supervisor.  The woman said there was no supervisor available but she would ask someone to call me.  I told her I would be reporting them to the state of California and the FCC.
These people are Scammers who are not only robbing us of our peace and quiet in our own homes - they're also obviously ripping off whatever company is paying them to make these calls because they're undoubtedly charging that company for each of these calls to the same number over and over again.  This many calls to the same number is harassment, pure and simple, and these companies should not be on any exempt from the Do Not Call list.  They are required to honor instructions to remove your phone number from their lists and yet the calls just keep on coming!
They even have the gall to have an employee check these scam report lists and write simpering little replies that try to say they're a legit company.  NO LEGITIMATE COMPANY HARASSES PEOPLE LIKE THIS.
I will be filing reports with the FCC and the State of California today.

Received a voice message last week from this caller saying they are conducting a survey and will call me back. Called again today, but didn't answer since I didn't recognize the number. I have been on the "do not call" list for a couple of years now. How can they circumvent that?

Calling to do a beach survey. Not sure why they called me but just tell them "no thank you."

Have you read some of the questions that they are going to ask you??? They told me to go to their website (which I did) and took a look at a sample questionnaire and I was shocked at what they wanted to know. They may be legit but some of their questions are none of their business (sexual related questions). My husband was the only one they wanted to talk to, and he was not interested in staying on the phone for the 45 minutes they said it would take to answer all of their questions. I don't blame him. He is in the medical field and he asks and answers all those questions a million times a day. When you say NO, they should take it as that and not call you back time after time hoping that you have changed your mind. I have answered lots of surveys (I do not work) but would put my foot down when it gets too personal.

Do Not want their calls, people have Private numbers for a reason, why are they stealing peoples private numbers to harass them? Do Not call me, I do not answer calls from out of area, or any other B.S. place I do not know.

I got this number calling alot it was a different number for Westat than i was use to so i looked it up.If you answer it is research survey and they are 100% legit. I have done over 10 surveys with then in 2 years and each time the survey is worth more $$$ i am up to 50.00 gift card and each person in household over 21 can do it. so me and hubby both do them. And i do in fact get the visa gift cards in the mail everytime.

also if they are calling you then your number is listed in phone book, if it is a cell phone they are calling from then you gave that information as cell phones are not public numbers, the only other way they can call you is at the end of every survey they ask if i know friends/family whom would like to do them too, and ask for their numbers and names, i never tell them anyone, if say you have a new number the old person could have been doing their surveys. or they also ask for another number just in case something would happen to the original number and if someone gave them a fake number then they would call you, but it sure is a quick 50.00 takes me like 10 mins total.

They are not violating any laws. Since they are doing legitimate scientific research and NOT selling anything they do not have violations for calling as they would not be included in any do not call lists.

Same thing happened to me. Have called four times now and as late at 9:15 PM. Won't give me the name of UCSF Dept. that they are doing research for...have asked them to stop calling but they don't.

got the call but no answer

I get calls from (240) 453-2908,  3-4 times per week.  My caller ID says Rockville, M.D.  I have not received any messages from this caller.  The name of the caller as well as the company name are not specified. Fortunately, I have caller ID so I can weed out crap calls such as this.   The calls typically come in after 8 PM PDT.  Very annoying!!
