I got the same call.  The guy was nice and explained that the University of California was doing a survey.  Compensation was $5.  Some simple, non intrusive questions.  Then, after that a more detailed survey was presented to me with a $25 compensation.  I declined, he got "Business Aggressive" and I eventually hung up after explaining that I would not be discussing my personal life or sharing personal information any further.  He wanted address, sexual habits, etc....  No thanks.  He was never rude but was pushy.  This was on my work cell phone.

Conducting a legit survey. These people are extremely annoying. They have called my wife's cell phone 10 times in 2 weeks. The 3 times she has answered, she has politely told them she is not participating and for them to not call her back. Of course, they just call back the next day.

She does not care that that survey is legit: she chooses to not participate and these knuckleheads should respect that and stop calling her.

Westac Inc says they do research/surveys for the Govt etc. They lie. Come to find out, they are Debt Collectors. They call your number if your name matches or you have the same last name of the debtor they are looking, for within your area.  The Govt. does not use Westac for anything. They call the first time and leave their bogus message about research/survey. next time they will not leave a message or just play music into your voice mail for several minutes.

Beware, people like 'Anonymous Fly' who leave flattering postings here must be employees.

So I finally answered after many calls from the past couple months from them. I spoke with a woman who said they were conducting a survey for UCLA study by "Dr. Brown" at 1-866-275-2447.

I decided why not, so I completed the survey. It took about 40 minutes total (but I also had a bad connection and had to repeat multiple answers). She said they would send $25 in the mail.

Not too bad for 30-40 mins of your time (if you have the time and don't mind revealing healthcare related information). Now hopefully they're friggen stop calling my phone.

Keeps calling my CELL PHONE even after telling them I have to pay for those minutes and NEVER do these [***] surveys. Says they are doing a survey for the University of California, but number is from Maryland.

I am habitually and continuously receiving phone calls from this number which I have no idea or reason why these phone calls were being made to my cellular phone.

asked several times to be removed from their list.. no no avail.. we don't owe debt collector(s) and really don't want unsolicited calls, have an ill person here who can not sleep thru these unnecessary calls

I actually called them first and they had returned my call. They are doing a survey on some medical conditions on families after living on a military base.

You are lying. You are not a person that works for this company. Or maybe you are. But you are certainly not posting this in the interest of us or our country. As the last poster said, you are nothing but a scumbag telephone solicitor. STOP CALLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am trying to get in touch with any FORMER Westat employees.  For the people on the 800notes.com website - I hate to break your conspiracy theory balloon but they are not the MOB, telemarketers or a collection agency.  They ARE a huge company sucking the blood out of the taxpayer for stupid surveys we all could live just fine without.  Now I hate to deny anyone a chance for employment or to earn a decent living, but I've had first hand experience with this company and I must tell you its ALL been very negative, and possibly somewhat illegal.

I have asked them numerous times to stop calling as they are asking for someone who had this number before we did.  Now I see their number on Caller ID and just don't answer.  What's the point in me asking them to stop calling when clearly they won't.  I also told them this number is now owned by an octogenarian and elder harrassment laws apply...to no avail.  I do write down when they call so when I do decide to answer, I can recite to them the days/times they call when they say "this is the first time we have called" so as to call them liars.  It's just a pesty thing I shouldn't have to deal with at my age.

Got call from 240-453-2908 at 12:20:59 Saturday November 19, 2011 on my cell that is registered with the federal "don't call" list. Did not answer - they left no message.

I called them back and spoke to a woman  I told her to stop calling and she took my number and said it was off there list and she couldn't tell ne how they got my number

Keep calling my cell leaving no message. I wrote the company requesting no more calls to any of my phones. They hide their identity from a simple internet search, but their address is Westat Inc
1600 Research Blvd., Rockville, MD 20850. I wrote them to get my number placed on their "do not call" list. If the calls do not stop - I intend to pursue them through the FCC and any other agencies I can dream up.

More than seven calls on behalf of some UCLA organization. I don't actually know because I interrupted the caller when I answered in an attempt to stop this harrassment. I asked to be placed on the do not call list, and the caller said she would do so. However, I'm still getting calls every weeknight. To my cell phone! I thought this wasn't allowed!

I tried calling Westat at the number on their website 301-251-1500, and there's no answer. I also called 240-453-2908  and got a voicemail greeting that was cut-off. Please leave a message for Bleep. [***]!
