This company keeps calling about a survey. They mailed one, we threw it away. They keep calling, twice today, 10-5-08. My wife told them NOT interested.

BUT, DO CALL, a manager at WESTAT, associated with the calls is David A. Marker, of 7131 Willow Brook Way in Columbia, Maryland. His home phone number is (301) 854-2531. I called him after finding the number on this website. He said he did telephone surveys at work & wondered why I was calling him. I said, that's strange, I wondered why his work was calling me over & over. I'm reporting them to  www.donotcall.gov . Let's all return the favor!

Keep getting calls from this number, caller ID Westat, Inc Research. Usually don't answer, but on 2 occasions when my young son picked up and handed the phone over I told them in no uncertain terms they were not to call again and to remove my number from their database.  I have never never participated in their "travel survey", but they continue to call in spite of me telling them not to.  Indicates a criminal scam at worst, and harrassment at best. Recvd another call today, picked up and went ballistic. Demanded a supervisor, but instead caller insisted they "could not remove" me from computer b/c of way their research was set up, and removing a number would affect their results, blah, blah, blah.  After all my refusals and flat-out accusing them of making harrassing calls, the caller had the gall to ask WHY I wasn't interested in answering their questions.  Informed her I was not interested in their problems or their survey, and my reasons were none of their business.  Apparently no supervisors at the calling number, b/c I was given another number to call (1-888-817-2810) to speak to one. At that number I had to insist that a supervisor come to the phone. "Terence" supposedly located my number in the database and removed it while I was on the line.  We'll see.

I have not answered any calls from this number yet have numerous calls show up as missed calls on my cell phone.

Request DNC for ALL their clients and connected/affiliated/associated companies.

This person called me for a question or survey from the Patent Office.

calls from this number night after night, I want them to stop, I work shift work and find their calls annoying to say the least

Westat is legit.  I work for them.  If you google the national household travel survey you will see that it's legit.

Repetitive calls

They told me it had to do with a survey on smoking for the University of California. Answered their questions and gave them little personal information. Today they left a message on answering machine with a call back number of 888-551-5006. They called back later to speak with my wife and I asked them some personal questions. Asked them what university and they were unsure. They gave me a number to the University doing the survey (858-822-5668). Will call them in a.m. to find out if its a legit survey.

i am recieving calls from this number several times in a week. they are claiming to be government survey, regarding travel. i am not sure if they are legit. has anyone been getting calls from this number?

Survey now appears to now be for the Dept of Transportation regarding whether or not you still have a land-line in addition to a mobile phone and whether the mobile was used for business/ personal/ both. She called my mobile and immediately identified herself then asked if I was currently driving, if so she would have to call back later. Since I was at home I agreed to continue. Survey lasted just over a minute.

This number and company - Westat - is legitimate. They do many different types of surveys for the government and companies. See their web-site. However they frequently call unlisted numbers even after callers ask them to stop.

Westat survey company continues to call my unlisted number. I have asked them to take my number off their call list, which they are supposed to do when asked. They say it's a random number. The calls are increasing. The callers are getting more aggressive.

I am in this business and this is not proper conduct. It gives all companies who are market researchers a bad name. They do not have special dispensation as a government contractor. My company also has government contracts. They are breaking the FTC regulations. Stop them.

Call several times a week. I never answer, but they keep calling.
