i just received a call from Mrs. Fowler who explained most of what was already described by others who previously reported misgivings.  When I asked for a website address to learn more about the company before interviewing, she said it was currently under construction.  I made an interview appointment for tomorrow but will be calling to cancel.  The gave me the same story about being around since 1924 and if this is true, there should at least be some type of story about them online somewhere.  Not worth the time in my opinion.

I received a phone message from Mrs. Holder of the Rumbuck Agency on 9/16/08.  She said she reviewed my resume on the Michigan Talent Bank and would like for me to call her back to set up an interview.  In the middle of her speaking she said to please excuse her voice.  It was raspy.  The number she gave me to call was 248-283-5388 ext. 921.  From what I've read here I won't be calling her back.

I, too, received a call from Mrs. Holder.  She did ask if I would be in school for the next 6-8 months. I have an interview Sept. 30th at 10am.  She stated to dress nice bussiness attire.  She did mention supplemental benefits for union workers.  The position is a manager of some sort.  I have a heard alot of negativity about this company.  However, I am going to the interview. I am glad I googled and thank each and everyone of you who gave me a "heads up".  After the interview I will come back and let all know how it went.

I received the same message from Beverly today. Thanks for your help, I will not return her call.

I also received a call from this agency today. I have sent out apps and resumes....but none to this agency!! Wonder what the deal is? I would never take anything in sales, as that isn't a strong 'suit' of mine. So, this is a scam? She also mentioned an interview on Wednesday......?????????

Received a phone message from this company twice today. I never sent any apps or resumes to this company!! Don't know what the deal is here, but after reading some of the posts, I'm not going to respond to this person.

After posting my resume on Careerbuilder.com to apply for a posted job and choosing the option that my resume could not be read by others I received a call from Mrs. Holder from Rumbuc Agency wanting to discuss my resume. Was told to call 248-283-5388 ext 112.  Had a funny feeling about it.  So glad I found this information and will not be wasting my time.

Got an email from them today, and since my husbands has been sending out his resume I wasn't sure...  Glad I looked you all up to see this is a waste of our time!!  Thanks!!

i got an e-mail from these people saying they called and couldn't reach me.  i have an answering machine that records all incoming call and there was no calls from them on the machine.  the ext. # they said to call was 115 and the name was Beverly Whisenhunt.  don't call them, e-mail them back with message

Just received a call from a Mrs. Holder.  The number on the caller ID was 248-283-5323.  It seemed very odd to be getting this call at 8:40 p.m. on a Sunday evening.  She asked if I was available for an interview tomorrow morning.  I said I was not and she asked me to call her back at 248-283-5388 Ext. 112 next week.  She was vague about the company.

I got a similar call today December 26, 2008.  The call started with the usual, I think it's really sad that these pyramid schemes are taking advantage of a very poor economy.

I recieved a call from AIL Rumbuc saying they got my resume from Monster.com. I checked them out and the complaints they have. Seems they are dishonest.

Yes this is a scam and they are using Monster.com to call people. I just emailed Monster to let them know about. Everyone should. These are bad times and using people now is even worst in these times.

my name was never used, and the name of the company never mentioned. If they did indeed have my resume which i know i never sent them, they would have had my contact number. i looked up the email address, and the company is nothing near my field of work.  I wanted to share this because it came from a different name than what others are posting about.  i emailed the person back asking how they got my info, but they have not replied.

Same with me.  I, too, have a resume on Monster.com and they followed up with a phone call.  Mine was from a Tomeka Holman.  Same phone number, though.  Thanks, but no thanks!  Thomas

I got a call too. From what I figured out, this insurance agency hires "management trainees" who sell insurance for them, straight commission.  In other words, you solicit business at a small percentage rate while the agency owners sit back and collect the big bucks for American Income Life. You sell to your friends and relatives who would never buy from strangers.  It's not illegal, but you'd have to be desperate to make a dollar.  I politely told the woman ("HR rep") that I wouldn't consider straight commissioned sales and was told she'd hold my resume because they have a 1pm-9pm office admin job opening.  I bet I don't hear from them.

After getting a call like the rest of you, I did some digging.  It's insurance sales, straight commission.  They contact everybody on Monster and CareerBuilder.  I know one woman who hired on.  They allow you to work for 30 days until you get your license.  If, for some reason, you don't pass the state insurance exam, you don't get paid and you're no longer an agent. I think Globe Life (also part of Torchmark) is better known than AIL. It's not exactly a scam.  Real estate agents work the same way.  You have to be a good communicator, know your product and, most importantly, have excellent home office support.  I've worked at the home offices of 2 insurance companies so I know what a typical, top selling agent goes through.
