Wow, what a condescending [***]!  Hop in your Cobra? Name dropping? I call bullsh*t!   If you are so damn "adult and professional", why can't you remember that you need cables with a new piece of gear?  Seriously, I would hate my Sweetwater job if I had to call you all the time and remind you to wipe your a**.  Cause I'm sure you talk like a douche to everybody, even people you do like.  Wow, Stu.

I find it cool that they call to let you know your order is being shipped and to make sure the stuff you recieved is correct and not damaged BUT its annoying when they call to let me know someone else is calling me now because the other guy quit.

This was such a hassle.  They should have told me up front they were going to verify my credit card.  I have ordered with that card a hundred times and received swift shipping and no hassles.  This is just bad business and just because someone is following company policy doesn't make the policy a good one.  It is just BS when one company out of the hundred I've ordered with surprised me with this by calling and calling and finally I got an email back explaining the problem.  They need to clearly state up front that billing is going to take a few more steps and involve more people.  It is just dishonest to send a confirmation of the order when it is not confirmed at all. I will never do business with them.  I would say again, but I never got an order through.

Many people do not have time to make phone calls and play phone tag.  That is why those people use email and the internet to order.  Time is valuable.  They should default to not bothering the customer and give the option to bother if that is what professional musicians on this post for instance want.  I don't know any professional musicians that want this.  Most people want to get an order done and move on.

As for verifying the credit card, what are they going to do?  If you have all the right information when you entered it with the secret code and the right billing address, there isn't much to verify.  You could give them any number to call and just have that person verify the order and the details.

Hey, Sweetwater, if I want something I'LL call you, not the other way around.

Until then, straight to voicemail every time.

All you have to do is tell them to stop and they will. Personally, I have bought a bunch of Les Pauls from them, so they call me up with great deals from to time to see if I want another one? I got a couple good prices from them.

I'm an amateur musician who has never placed an order with this company. I was asked if I was still interested in "anything" that they carry. I entered a sweepstakes years ago that Sweetwater was having. That's how they got my information. Honestly, the sales calls are infrequent. I've never spoken directly to a rep, but a very polite message is always left on my machine, along with their phone number. I can't begin to count the number of telemarketer calls I've received from other companies that are hang ups, without a message. Sweetwater can call me anytime. I only wish that all companies were as polite when contacting potential customers. Who knows, I'll probably purchase for them at some point.
Oh. And no, I don't work for them. I'm an elementary school teacher and part time Realtor in Texas.

No need for all that, just ask them to stop, they will.

I've bought 2 PRS guitars, and countless other pieces of gear, I got a call once and asked him to stop, and they did, no problem.

Sweetwater.  They are persistent and annoying with their marketing calls, emails and postal mail.  Their catalog is nice to look at, but I won't do business again with a company who turns a $3 sale (12 picks) into justification for endless sales pitches through every contact point they have of me.

Don't report people to Ripoffreport unless they ripped you off.  File a complaint with the BBB if you feel its justified, but last I knew, there were rules stating it was ok for businesses to contact buyers or customers within x months without it being considered unsolicited.  Sweetwater is just much more aggressive than any company that I've purchased from thus far.

Chill out folks. The number is for Sweetwater Sound, a thoroughly reputable company. They aren't telemarketers trying to sell you something you don't want and never would want. Sweetwater is the best of the online music retailers in quality and customer help. Go look at their webpage about which audio/MIDI interfaces have updated their drivers for Mac OS 10.7 & 10.8 and which haven't yet. Just three days ago, that saved me from buying a new audio/MIDI interface that didn't have working drivers yet. Do you see the same technical info from Musician's Friend, Music123, or Guitar Center? No - and with those companies, I would of had to order it, test it, and then return it at my expense because of the lack of that technical info.

So they call me once a year to catch up and they like to follow up on orders - why is that type of customer service a bad thing these days? It's a pleasant conversation, no pressure to buy anything, just reminding me that they're available if I need something. If that behavior bothers you, just ask them not to call you again, no big deal.

Compare prices, Sweetwater is usually about the same as MF, M123, and often appreciably less than GC. (And MF, M123, and GC are all owned by Bain Capital, so every dollar you spend there enriches Mitt Romney even more.)

Well, for the two 25' TRS cables I needed for my home studio recently, *NONE* of the four local music shops I tried had any in stock. The locals seem to be stocking less and less stuff these days. It's sad, one of them that I used to buy a lot of equipment from has now removed all but one tube from each of their fluorescent light fixtures to save money. I'm very happy with the cables bought from Sweetwater though.

Great company, and yes they call to make sure you know your order has been placed and check on your experience after the fact sometimes too. I like it and call it "customer service" since I order strings, amps and guitars from them. They have never called me out of the blue trying to sell any additional products to me!!!! (or at least the rep for my region hasn't).

Not a telemarketer?  Never heard of/done business with this company, and yet they call several times each week, apparently disregarding the DNC list.  After reading comments here, will answer next time and ask to be removed from their list, since they seem to abide.  As an outside observer, I would think a brief follow-up call left as a message to confirm an order and avoid fraud from hi-jacked info, or possible order error, would be welcome regardless of amount of purchase, as most companies do by email, but draw the line at efforts to bloat a sale.
