When you received the check was it a real check?? Did you try to cash it?? I am just curious!

I just got the EXACT message from Kim Williams.  I sent it to the craigslist contact.  It was the Certified check and moving company coming to pick it up.  Glad I googled Wikizplc and saw all of these posts.  Here is the message:

This is currently happening to me.  Kim Williams. I got a check today for 2,550.00 to pay movers my itenm was 300.00 Its scary and I am going to the police to report it.

This is the same exact email I received from Kim Williams.  I knew it sounded wierd. I posted and ad on Craigslist and she responded instantly.  I was not using a computer that had of my personal information, so I responded. She got part of my name and I did not give my address either.  A check did show up today.  I have printed my email and these post so that I can report it as well.  Im glad I checked into that email address as well.

The first message I rec'd was inquiring whether my table was still available - this came from katie minton <oitybvety@inbox.lv> which I thought was weird, but figured it was just the way Craig's List sets up e-mail within the system.

I did reply, so she (he?) got my full name. That's when I rec'd the second message exactly like everyone else's (thanks for the response, movers will pick up, delete the posting, can't communicate bec deaf, etc.)

Someone mentioned that the scammer never uses the name of the item you're selling. My table was called both the item and the piece.

Does anyone know what they can do with my info?

I'm not going to reply back, and will report to Craig's List as well as my local police. This very discouraging as I've had great luck renting my apt and selling stuff here and there on CL.

I have been emailing this person back and forth for over a week now. He sent a check for 2700 dollars for a piece of furniture worth 400 dollars.  He then gave me this contact information, below, and instructions to have the balance wired via Western Union to that contact in London, England.

The rest of the fund should be sent to my mover's head office via WESTERN UNION  which is in London, United Kingdom as they deal with out of states transactions and validate them, This is the reason why I am using them and also because i would get loyalties and also they offer high quality service. Here's the movers information below

I got the same letter from Kim Williams.  I figured something smelled funny.  So I googled the email address wikizplc and found this thread.  I replied back that I am only accepting CASH..

Be aware of the scam - only work with cash and say no to the checks.

Wasn't a call but found an alleged scammer's email on this site so decided to share.

Listed furniture for sale on Craigslist and received these responses from these scammers:

(note: Gerald hasn't responded my email yet but since all he mentioned in his 1st email was "Could I wire tdransfer the payments?", I am confident that he's another low life.  If I'm wrong, I apologize but I doubt that I'm wrong.)

All three of these scammers mentioned one or more of these ideas:
wiring money, money order, Western Union, living out of country in a secret military mission, having a moving agent pickup, personal assistant pickup.

Such a waste of time and lives these guys are.

God bless the person who started this discussion/forum. I got the same email as most of you from Kim Williams. I was about to respond to Kim but was curious to know what kind of company is this wikizplc. So started googling and found this blog. I am going to block this person now.

I just got the exact same response for a dresser I was selling...  Ugh!

I just received this scam email after posting something for sale on Craigslist.  The English diction suggests that it may be from England.....  Note the email is draa but the name is Darr.
