I just submitted an FTC complaint: "It was a digital recording asking to press one for an amusement park birthday party and two for some other type of birthday party. A McDonald's commercial was played at the end. Said it was sponsored by McDonald's. Didn't sound like it, because McDonald's usually has awesome commercials."

This is horrible PR for McDonald's and a waste of my time.

Computer generated call stating it was sponsered by McDonalds and started going on about deciding on cars..etc.etc

I just received a call similar to the others listed here.

i got a call from this # on my cell and answered... it was a recording asking if i thought "nancy" tshould get her mother a <press 1> for a vase <press 2> for a sweater... and <press 3> for something else... i pressed 1 just to see what would happe... but got no response... then i called the # back and it told me to goto www.heycosmo.com... i went to the site and i think its [***]... becareful... i bet they're just phishing for phone #s...

I got this call and didn't answer. Called back and got a robotic male voice stating that the call was from "heycosmo.com" and that they were updating their data base so I couldn't retrieve a message. The voice recommends that I visit the website. I did and it is a "social utility" website with jokes and stupid stuff! I have set my phone to be on silent if the call comes through again! Yep, it's a scam!

Got the call on my cell phone, didn't answer it, no message. I get a lot of different telemarketing and other calls the last few months but I never answer or call back. Please be aware that if you call back the numbers they will then know it is a live working phone and will sell your number to a 100 companies..and if you go to the website then they have your IP # and god knows what they will try to FN hack..NEVER RESPOND..better to not answer and just ignore and delete.

Just got the same call. Didn't answer - they left no message.  I checked here - thatnks for the info!

Hey, I got the same call from this heycosmo.com website though i never answered the call, I did a *67 call back and got the web address. Basically it could be a phishing scam and a pain in the rear. at least I know it wasn't some collection agency to give me b.s. I personally don't take any calls from callers not on my list, i leave it to the answer machine and if you don't get a message then it's usually, crap! them [***]! they ain't got nothing else to do but annoy us

Got a call on my mobile this afternoon (8/28/08) from this number; no commercial for Walmart or McDonalds, just a recording of a male voice. The message was cut-off, sounded like I only got the last part-- "Press one for an exciting message". I, of course, hung up.

Like everyone else, I'm sure this is a scam.

Received a call from 1-302-336-7401.  I did not pick up but but called number back and got a message from heycosmos.com.  Some gibberish about messaging. "Social Utility and off the web and the mobile phone....we are still in beta and retrieval function is currently unavailable."

Got a wierd call, muddled male voice recording, somthing about a barbecue. Hung up.

Got one of these junk Cosmo calls today.  Didn't answer.  Called back and got the same robotic recording.

Call on my cell phone from 302-336-7401. Distorted message. I have never shopped at Walmart so know they can't say they got my number that way.

In Michigan the Attorney can sue them - so I will make sure to report this.
These people get fined for that kind of stuff.

Recieved the same call and a recording advised me that a friend has left me a message and go to heycosmo.com to retrieve it.  I have the apple phone so i was unable to press a required selection since the keypad doesnt generate on a phone call. Too bad for them, Im on the DNC list F*ckerz!

3023367401 called me, some bizarro pre-rec message about a message left for me on some cosmo website.  i added my cellphone to the dnc list...wtf?

Dude, same number called me and left a message asking how to retrieve data that was on my phone or some stuff. then it was followed by that heycosmo.com website thing. i guess im not the only person that has looked this up, its all just a scam.

i didn't answer since i did not recognize the phone number, but there was a voice mail, so i checked it.  there was a recording that looped about 3 times about needing to know my preferences before continuing with the hotel reservations and push "1" now.  in between the main message, there were commercials that said they are sponsored by MacDonalds.
