crap, don't answer.  did anyone get a surprise?  i haven't yet.  worried about phishing and hiden charges

302-336-7401 called and upon answering, an automated phone message began playing, asking me to vote for a preferred alcoholic beverage using my touchtone phone.

Called, I answered told to push 1 for message.  Called the number back, got recorded message "probablly calling because you received a message, system was down go to heycosmo.com"  Had to play the message several times to understand website name.

I received a call from 302-336-7401. I did not pick up the call and they left no message. It's not the first call from them. I wouldn't even mention this call but I also received a called from an "800" number(can't find where I wrote down the number but if I do will post here). A woman left a message about someone having stolen my credit and that they're running up my cards and using my identity. The woman said she was Detective Laurl. She left an extension to call back on which was not the police department. Police don't usually call from an 800 number, the voice was too angry. I am an actor and can smell another actor. My credit was not being used but would have been if I'd fallen for her bull story. Two days after that call I got another call from another number saying there is a package for me. They left a routing number and said to call back with my address to have it delivered. They were phishing for my address and possibly more, also the package was coming to a company I'd left months previously. The Delivery Company wasn't Fed Ex or UPS or any of the big boys. The woman said the company was NTF Courier. It's a non existent company. Thinking of getting a new cell number after having this one for probably 15 years cause these calls are becoming a nuisance...

just register your number on the do not call registry. i'm not sure how they got my number as it's unlisted and i'm on that registry list but i reported the number. do the same.

I got a call from this number, I picked up, it was a machine talking about some product they needed survey for. How do I block a number with cell phone?

I have a suspicion about where they got my number.  I got a call from 1-302-336-7401.  I did not press 1 to hear the message.  I was worried that it was one of those scams that charges your bill.

Last week some kid asked to use my cell phone.  I let him, bad idea.  I come to find out that he's one of those scam artists who travels around, living in hotels, and telling people he is selling magazine subscriptions for a competition.

The FTC won't accept the complaint.I submitted a complaint, and get this message:

The phone number 302-336-7401 was registered on September 20, 2008.
Companies may call you for up to 31 days after that date. You may file a complaint if a company calls you after October 21, 2008.

My phone was turned off at the time that this call came through but this number left a voicemail. There wasn't an actual message just gibberish for several minutes. After seeing all the comments left by others on this website I know its some sort of a scam.

Call came in didn't answer.  No voicemail.  Did a search and came up with this site.

My roommate told me I had gotten a call on my cell while I was out of the room, so I go and look.  It's this number and I don't recognize it.  I ask her if she does.  She says no.  Thought about calling it back, but decided to just check online insted.  Found out that this number calls a LOT of people... probably just phishing or something.

Received a call from this number with recorded message, telling me that the data retreival database was unavailable at this time.  Went to the "heycosmo" website.  One of the features of this website is to send prank calls anonymously.  I figure that is was it was!!!!B9R

Pretty lousy job of marketing though.  Nothing like pi**ing off your prospective users.

Some "cosmic blast" message. I am on the do not call list so am not sure why I got the call. Hung up anyway.

This stuff has got to stop. I got the baby boy/girl call last week from heycosmo.com. Then this week got another call from a different number with another BS message. Screw these people. It's a scam!!!Either join the DNC list or just don't answer numbers with unknown area codes. I've never heard of anyone receiving one of these BS calls from their own area code. To hell with them!

Hey LPF, I have a friend who also got that will the baby be a boy press 1 recording today. Same one that I recieved too. Too many people are receiving the same odd messages from heycosmo.com. Yes you can send messages from heycosmo via facebook but they definatly have a autodialer at work here too!
