- MECaller was a male with a foreign accent who left a 7 second message that is barely audible. Refers to my cell phone. Breathes heavily. On Do Not Call Registry FAQ's page: " I gave you the phone number of the company who called me illegally. Why isn't the FTC doing something? "
Current technology makes it easy for scammers to fake or "spoof" caller ID information, so the number you reported in your complaint probably isn't real. Without more information, it's difficult for the FTC and other law enforcement agencies to identify the actual caller. Nonetheless, the FTC analyzes complaint data and trends to identify illegal callers based on calling patterns. The agency also is pursuing a variety of technology-based solutions to combat illegal calls and practices.- Caller: Chicago, IL

- PocketsNumber is legitimate, but call is spoofed.
- RyanI have gotten calls from this number as well and it is the National Immunization Survey (NIS) calling on behalf of the CDC. After talking to a rep I found out what they do is randomly select numbers from different area codes and call that number once a day until they pick up. (Personally I think that is bull as if someone isn't picking up the first few times they should try a different number.)

- Uncle Bob| 1 replyEven if it is the CDC I won't give them info. They want birth and immunization records for this area? Call the hospitals and pharmacies. They have it all.

- BobGot a call from 312-587-7017, answered it hoping it was a telemarketer. Said was CDC. Responded with, "Oh good! They said you would call today with the results of my Ebola tests". I was about to say that I had lunch at McDonalds and was worried about spreading the virus with my runny nose and cold but they hung up before I could finish. :( I love unwanted phone calls. SUPER fun messing with them!!! Learned some of my solicitor tricks from 419eater (dot) com. FANTASTIC place to learn all about scam bating!!!!

- Amy replies to Algernonthey don't ask for any personal information, only about number of children between certain ages and whether or not they have had vaccinations. They don't even ask gender or specific ages. Don't attack other people and call them gullible when you obviously didn't even take the time to read her reply. I was suspicious when they called me as well, but they simply told me what they were doing and I told them there were no children in this household and they thanked me for my time and that was the end of it. No fishing for any kind of info at all. I would say it is legit, and you are being an ass.
